Trade up for Gurley?

If you believe anyone can run behind this line then why draft a RB at all?

Because we have injury and odd field question marks with our current cast of rbs.

And it's a matter of asset allocation.

For instance I think Romo can elevate the production level of any WR Dallas brings in. That doesn't mean I don't want Dez Bryant on the team.

@OllieUKEZ: Getting a sense the Cowboys are looking at moving up for Todd Gurley after speaking to people around Georgia

Few other tweets I seen also suggesting this.

As I suggested in the Gordon trade up post, these RB trade up leaks may be more about convincing MIN how much we like the rookie RBs in this draft than actual truth. So that MIN will lower its asking price for AP. If MIN believes that we'd not only spend a first rounder on a rookie RB, but also add a 3rd or 4th to move up, they may not think we are as desperate for AP as we might actually be.

After reading through these responses, i believe the people who are against the trade up are the same ones who dont want us to trade for Ap. The others are willing/wanting us to trade for AP would not have a problem with this. IMO, id rather give away a 3rd and get back a 4th to get Gurley than trade a 1st or possibly 2nd for AP. We still will have a good chance to improve this D with a 2nd round pick.

Cowboys send 1st (27) and 3rd(91) to Pitt
Pitt sends 1st (22) and 4th (121) to Dallas

I would be perfectly fine with that deal. If he drops past SD.

This is my deal as well... the one problem is if the Steelers really want Johnson (who is starting to become their consensus pick) they might not be willing to make it, in which case we might have to trade with the Bengals at 21, and would have to lose just a tad bit more. I also would be totally willing to make this deal to grab Gordon, and one of those 2 should be there are 21/22.

I've seen many reports that they like Collins a lot. From what I've read, enough to take him at 22 as well. He should be there at 27 also, so they could trade down and still potentially get one of their top targets at a better value, while also getting an extra 3rd.

I also fully expect one of Gordon and Gurley to be there at 21-22. I've also read a lot of reports that SD might prefer Gordon because they might prefer the immediately healthy RB over one who will need to go on PuP. If Gurley slid, I'm actually hoping they make a move up for him.

Because we need a 4th DE more than we need a 1st RB?

I wouldn't exactly rely on Hardy--imminent suspension--or Lawrence--0 sacks last year--as sure things.

Value in this draft at RB. Can get a starter in Rd 3. Can you say the same for DE?

That being said, I actually am in favor of trading a couple spots for Gordon or Gurley now. Both are immediate impact guys and with Romo's age, that's exactly what we.need
