Trade up for Pitts (without getting fleeced)

He's a generational talent, you can't put a LBer on him, we already have elite WR talents, and an Elite RB with a big strong dual threat QB.
If you add Kyle Pitts to this, it's a nightmare for defenses. I can't think of a defense in the NFL that would be able to stop us. Therefore, you have to at least consider trade up scenarios.
On top of tall of this, this year's draft is deep at our positions of need: OL, S, CB, DT

"But you don't waste a premium pick on a TE and you certainly dont trade up from 10 for a TE."

Ok, lets scrap the "TE" label, and lets just call him what he is, which is a WEAPON. An instant mismatch every time he steps on the field. Atlanta has made it known they're willing to shop the pick. And if someone trades with Atlanta to move up, it will most likely be for a QB.

Cincy could potentially be willing to trade as they REALLY need to focus on their O-Line over anything else.

What does it cost us?

I feel we can offer a combination of our 10th pick and either our 2022 2nd rd pick
OR 2022 3rd and 5th rid pick PLUS next years 4th rd pick

We have a boatload of picks this year, so we can still address our areas of need, and next year roll out with this:
Dak
Zeke
ACooper
Cee Dee Lamb
Michael Gallup
Kyle Pitts

If you hate my idea, please explain to me how you would attempt to stop this lineup from driving it down your throat and scoring every time we have possession of the ball.

Nobody really gets fleeced anymore.

Fans like to say it but when you look up every trade over the last 10 years--other than a few involving the 1st or 2nd overall pick--they all come within about 95% of the trade value chart.

That includes Dallas' trades too btw.

As for trading up above the 10th pick? That would be really expensive unless it's 1-2 sposts..

Every TE picked in the 1st round the last 10 years has been a generational talent. No trading up unless its to get a QB which we dont need., in theory.

If Pitts makes it to 8 I would pull the trigger .
No one would complain once they see the results on the field.

The ones on this forum that think Pitts isn't worth it will be the biggest Pitts bandwagon fans.

Even two spots would mean giving up the 10th and one or two later round picks

it would be a complete embarrassment of riches when you basically will be running a 4 WR set. He sure is not in line TE.

LOL.

Trade up, likely giving up a second round pick, to take a TE that whole very talented probably doesn’t have as big an impact as his talent indicates given the number of good pass catchers we already have.

Yep...moving up to 8th would cost us the 10th overall plus, most likely, either our 2nd 3rd rounder (pick 99) or both of our 4th rounders--picks 115 and 138.

But Carolina is at 8 and I doubt they'd trade the pick anyway if Pitts has fallen that far.

If we move up further, it starts getting really pricey...and silly.

If we draft Pitts, I really do think we need to trade one of our WRs.
There are not enough balls to go around to make it worthwhile, otherwise.
But we have 3 very tradable WRs, so pick one.

No.
If he falls to 10. Go ahead. Take him.

But give up picks to trade up? I have to pass on that.

You run through our D like it's made of the tissue paper it is.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Take him if he's there. If not, don't trade up to get him.

But this is a moot point. He's going to be gone by pick 6. And neither Miami or Cincinnati is going to entertain anything other than a blockbuster trade with premium draft picks to give up their spots.

I'm resigning myself to the fact that we're not getting Pitts. But there are still some good players to be had at #10.

If Pitts were to fall to Dallas and they took him, great have no issue with it. But no I would not start giving up players to move up to take a position that I don't consider a need position. Yes he is talented but generational talent? No I don't think so
