Nothing to see here, move along.
This will replace the Dak Contract threads in two weeks. Unfortunately.
Nothing to see here, move along.
The best back in the league? Yes he should. But should he be?
Whens he been in trouble? He’s a transcendent player at top form (which for him starts about game 5 or 6), and we don’t have an adequate replacement. I actually like the guy in a way, and feel like he’d be a cool friend. But part if what makes him seem like able is his extremely laid back, happy go lucky mentality, which just keeps getting him into trouble. It’s constant! He’s an elite athlete, no doubt, but he doesn’t have elite (perhaps not even average) focus, drive, or hunger for winning. He might not get suspended for this “faded” thing, but he is in the news for something mildly or severely negative all the time, the threat of suspension is constantly over him, he’s already been suspended—which hurt the team a lot— and I think he’s likely to be suspended again at some point for something. He’s also only getting older, and the only way to mitigate the pace of Father Time at his demanding position is to have elite conditioning and elite training... which by now he clearly is not interested in doing.
At RB, a cheaper player only one or two tiers below him could be found. McCarthy’s scheme will not truly need or utilize his strengths as a ground and pound player anyway. I think the trade return we get for him and the cap savings would add up to a net benefit over the talent drop off at RB, especially given the relatively low importance of this position in modern NFL. The biggest benefit to the team, however, would be in removing the chaos, disruptions, and reliance on an unreliable player who’s out of shape for a quarter of the season even when he’s not suspended or potentially suspended.
Which is what? He continuously disappears in big games and only one SB winner in the past twenty years has had the league leading rusher. He’s worth way more to us than what we would get in return.
Best back in the league? C’mon now, it’s ok to say he’s between 5-10 now.The best back in the league? Yes he should.
Ha! I have no value, I’m afraid!
Hahahahaha...take as much punishment as him? McCaffrey totes the rock (receiving and running) a lot more than he does. Barkley runs behind one of the worst lines in the league and gets mobbed by the defense on almost every play. There are several other RB’s that don’t have the line zeke has had his entire career and don’t have the weapons on offense that he does to take the pressure off. Do you really think opponents are worried about Eli, or a rookie QB, and Engram, Shepard or Tate?Whens he been in trouble?
I just dont think some of you see how just how much the Cowboys use him. I doubt there is a player in the league who who take as much pnishment as he does.
McCarthys scheme has nothing to do with what hes had in the past. McCarthy had ricky williams his rookie yr and in 10 games Williams had over1000 yrds then got hurt. I think Elliot is going to have a hufe yr with this offense if there is a season.
A function of the coaching, not Zeke.Which is what? He continuously disappears in big games and only one SB winner in the past twenty years has had the league leading rusher.
No, I'm Joeking. You can spout off all the stats you want about any RB in the league. There is none that has gained more yards in the time that Zeke has been in the league than Zeke. None. You like that. You don't have to admit it but we both know, you like that. We agree he is paid too much and is trouble off the field but no one is all bad.Hahahahaha...take as much punishment as him? Please tell me you’re joking.

Dallas problem is they continue to run Zeke on first downs predictably. Part of that is probably Dak, who should be checking out of the looks, unless he doesn’t have that authority.
1000 of Zeke’s yards in his guest season came after the first hit, meaning the claim he’s a product of the OL is absurd. He’s also right up there still with Henry game in red zone success this year, which was basically a HOF performance DH, and if there was any anomaly for red zone, it was the year prior, with Dak pre-Cooper and the fumbling machine he was and his awful play in the red zone, like this year.
Which is also the only reason he led the league in rushing. Without his total yards, what stat would his supporters throw around to justify his price tag or draft spot? He’s not even top 10 in most significant categories (forced tackles missed, broken tackles, yard after contact, yards after catch, elusiveness, short yard situations, etc)? Although he was one fumble short of leading the league in fumbles 2 years ago.A function of the coaching, not Zeke.
