What would it take, if you were the GM of the Dallas Cowboys, to take Miles Austin off of your hands?

It would have to be an amazing offer.

Vincent Jackson OR Eric Weddle and Marcus Mcneil and a 3rd.

Ngata and a 2nd.

two firsts

Eric Berry & Tambi Hali

Were not trading Austin. Only reason he regressed this year is because of Romo's injury. If Romo is healthy next year Austin will have another Probowl season. You make it sound like he's been horrible "what would it take for someone take him off our hands" He's had a pretty solid year, he's definitely one of the ten best receivers in the NFL.

What would be the point of trading one of your best players? Isn't the point to MAINTAIN your best players?

I don't get it.

Romo's injury is making him drop ball after ball?

Hmmm. Romo is more important than anyone could have ever imagined.

That was my first thought in reading that post, as well.

I find this thought entertaining. I don't completely agree that a Miles Austin trade is not possible. I think a Dez Bryant trade is off the table.

Austin is a good receiver but he has regressed a bit. Conversely, Roy Williams looks much better than he ever has before. Most assume that the Cowboys would rid themselves of Roy after the season but who would trade for him? Finding someone interested in Austin is far more probable.

The question is, could you expect the same kind of production out of Roy Wiliams long term? At what price would you be willing to cut ties with Austin?

I would want a early first rounder or a mid first and a third.

Don't agree with that at all. Kitna has been more than adequate replacing Romo the reason Austin isn't producing like last year is because teams have been ready for him this season.

He's garnered alot of attention and the addition of Dez and the improvement in RW play has reduced his opportunities, plus he's had alot of drops.

Last season RW wasn't producing and Austin was the teams only big play threat.

Teams have had a full year to game plan him and he hasn't been as affective.

He had alot of big runs after the catch last season and that hasn't been the case this season.

The only untouchable on our offense is Dez. I'm no draft guru, but I would'nt let Austin go for less than 3 picks...including a high 1st rounder.

We finally get some receivers that can play and people want to discuss trading them? Say Jerry trades Austin .... the next topic will be why we shouldn't of traded him.

Exactly.......

I wouldn't trade him. We have a young, talented, dangerous WR corps and he is a big part of it.

It would take monumental stupidity on my part as the GM of the Dallas Cowboys.

Only if we could find someone dumb enough to fork over the equivalent of what we got from the Herschel Walker trade.

It would have to be a massive offer to take the franchise QB's favorite receiver.
