My favorite current Cowboy. I don't know if he wants to be in Dallas. The GM and the fans are the worst in the NFL.
I think you’re taking a narrow view.My favorite current Cowboy. I don't know if he wants to be in Dallas. The GM and the fans are the worst in the NFL.
My point was that when i trade parsons i want back picks that get me a chance to be better afterwards. thats a reward i need to have to take the risk of letting him go.If you're getting a top 5 pick in return for Parsons I bet that's the only pick you'll be getting back in return. I can't remember a player being the centerpiece for a high pick like that in some time. Maybe the Laremy Tunsil deal? I'd have to look it up but I believe that was a later in the summer trade where Miami lucked into the top 5 pick due to Houston just imploding. All the major multiple 1st rounder swaps for players I can remember are typically projected to be late 1st. Mack, Ramsey, I think even the bigger QB trades were for bottom of the round picks.
If Jerry can pull off a deal like that he would be crazy to not pull the trigger.
It is now termed hive mind. Its not as big an issue as you think it is. People say that without even having a clue what our cap looks like in 3, 4 years. Its just groupthink
I don't disagree at all with your thought process, if you trade Parsons you should be asking a ton. I just don't think a top 5 pick + another 1st and possibly more is something a team would actually entertain as there is no precedent for a deal like that in the modern era.My point was that when i trade parsons i want back picks that get me a chance to be better afterwards. thats a reward i need to have to take the risk of letting him go.
I want a pick that guarantees me at least 90% a chance to draft an all pro. Thats usually a top 5th pick.
After that i want at least a 50-50 chance to draft another perinneral pro bowler with the second pick i get. So that should be a later first rounder 17-22.
If i get this i will trade him. Thats not a knock on parsons. That just good business. We got him for a first. I get 2 firsts with chances to replace him with one or two better players. And i dont have to pay his contract.
Id take my chances with that. If i f... up with those picks then i should change my draft room.
It all depends what we can get for him. For example, if a team was willing to trade their first and second picks for the next two years, we'd be foolish not to accept it. The longer he plays the less he'll be worth.I know this gets talked about ad nauseum, but I just want to see the what percentage of Cowboys fans actually want to trade him
Look at their roster and how much each player costs. They make smarter signings.Just one question - how does the Iggles front office keep finding ways to remain contenders with the large contracts they have handed out? Is the Dallas FO just making excuses because they don't know what they are doing? (I know, that's 2 questions. Sue me....)
Bradshaw made a comment that they should trade him for even one 1st and get a young eager player on a rookie salary because if they pay the brat child they will regret it because paying Dak and the Eight Track Tape Player all the money it will get worse paying the kid.It all depends what we can get for him. For example, if a team was willing to trade their first and second picks for the next two years, we'd be foolish not to accept it. The longer he plays the less he'll be worth.
Yes i did understand. And i too think that may be a bit much i am asking for. But i do also think a good dealer may be able to get this for parsons.I don't disagree at all with your thought process, if you trade Parsons you should be asking a ton. I just don't think a top 5 pick + another 1st and possibly more is something a team would actually entertain as there is no precedent for a deal like that in the modern era.
Jerry will give him 50 just for the headlines and attention.Through year 4 TJ Watt had been involved in 54 sacks. Myles Garrett had 45. Nick Bosa had 54. Micah Parsons has 53 with multiple games to go left in year 4. He will without question be the highest paid defensive player unless he is open to giving the Cowboys a discount. Nick Bosa set the market a year ago getting just over 15% of the cap. Based on the projected 2025 cap number Micah matching that would make him taking $40M per year a slight discount, and could probably push for closer to $45M.
Well if you believe that then we should definitely trade him. It only takes 1 team to pony up.He’s worth considerable pay, but not if you have to give up draft capital for the opportunity to be the team that pays him.
No team is going to “pony up” anything for Micah Parsons. He’s going to hold out until he gets an extension he feels he deserves. He may not be the brightest bulb in the marquee, but he knows enough to get his money now and that the idiot owner of the Dallas Cowboys will give it to him.Well if you believe that then we should definitely trade him. GM Jethro is not even smart enough to see what the trade value would be. So we will never know.No team is going to “pony up” anything for Micah Parsons. The other 31 teams know what his trade value is, so it doesn’t matter what Jerry Jones does or doesn’t know. He’ll sign with Dallas for a lot of money. Everyone knows that.GM Jethro is not even smart enough to see what the trade value would be. So we will never know.
Just like 31 GM's knew what Trance's trade value was, then GM Jethro gave up a 4th.The other 31 teams know what his trade value is, so it doesn’t matter what Jerry Jones does or doesn’t know. He’ll sign with Dallas for a lot of money. Everyone knows that.
