Definitely re-sign Micah and Zim and let Zim get more of his own guys.

Bro I used to think and say stuff like this. For this team it is nonsense. Parsons is getting mega paid. Stuff like the franchise tag and 5th year option are for Anthony Spencer. Parsons sells jerseys and is on TV.
Agreed. I say re-sign him. And he’s going to get paid at least $25 million AAV. Cowboys are not letting him go. No team would offer anything worthwhile for him anyway. I don’t believe he shows up without an extension, though.

The only way these clowns can draft their way to a SB is by aquiring a lot more high draft picks. Losing helps but they also need more picks in the 1st 3 rounds in general. The only way to get more top picks is to make some trades. Trading back in the draft or trading players. Mica can not do enough by himself to elevate this defense, he needs help so if they won't sign help in free agency then they need to trade him and turn 1 great player into multiple good/great players.

For me, I am 70% for resigning him, 30% open for trading him depending on the haul.

He is a great talent and I think he will bring outstanding value for the next 5 years at least.

That said— the Herschel Walker trade opened the door for a dynasty run in the 90’s— and if we could get a massive haul, I would have to consider it.

But then you remember who the GM is, and who would be making the picks, and you come back to the smart move being to resign him lol

Before the season I said trade. His value in March should still be where it was in September.

*IF* he's willing to sign a team-friendly in order to be able to sign other guys, that'd be awesome

he won't... he's earned a payday, but man, the way he and Overshown are working now wow

for any amount??
most think 40 mil a year, but it might be 50 mil a year
HELL NO... Look man I like Parsons but he's not that guy I mean he has potential to be that guy maybe on another team in a different defense these other guys are pushing 20 sacks every year he can't even put himself in that area I mean where is the tackle records forced fumbles interceptions he has not yet met that top paid defensive end or outside linebacker he's in the middle like of that top five South there's no way I'm offering him 35 and telling him kick rocks if you don't like it.. That would make him what second highest paid player on the Dallas Cowboys? Yeah I think people are getting out of control I don't know where you're hearing these numbers that's not happening there's not one defensive end that's making that kind of money right now and most of them the TJ watts the garretts the Moses have had at least one if not close to 2-20 sack seasons they seem to be very impactful and have a big stat line.. This guy's barely getting that 10 to 14 sacks I know he gets a lot of pressures but he's not really getting a lot of fumbles fumble recoveries interceptions he's not carrying guys into coverage so there's gonna be a little bit more negotiation than just he's gonna demand that kind of top money I don't see it...

don't let rumors steer you wrong my man that is not it that that money's no way. Who's the next defensive end or outside linebacker that's considered a pass rusher in his area that's who we need to look at it definitely ain't the guys I just mentioned above those guys are a level up as far as putting up stats....

Through year 4 TJ Watt had been involved in 54 sacks. Myles Garrett had 45. Nick Bosa had 54. Micah Parsons has 53 with multiple games to go left in year 4. He will without question be the highest paid defensive player unless he is open to giving the Cowboys a discount. Nick Bosa set the market a year ago getting just over 15% of the cap. Based on the projected 2025 cap number Micah matching that would make him taking $40M per year a slight discount, and could probably push for closer to $45M.

I voted to resign, but if the Jags called and offered 2025 1st, 2026 1st, 2025 2nd, and 2026 2nd conditional in exchange for Parsons and 2025 2nd, that would be hard to pass up. That would give me the first overall pick, which I could trade down a couple of spots and still draft Hunter and still have the 12th/13th pick.

With that offer on the table I'd even let Jerry give them Stephen as a throw in.

As crazy as it sounds, it's not a bad offer for the Jags. Their owner is desperate to see them competing for their divisional. They have their franchise QB. Parsons could give them a legit blue chipper on the other side of the ball. No defensive player in this draft can do that and it's only costing them three draft picks.

I'd love to see this happen, but I cant remember any type of package like this ever happening where a player goes for a top 5 pick plus more. There have been some guys who have landed multiple 1st rounders and more, but typically its teams drafting towards the end of the rounds making those moves.

Jacksonville likely has a top 3 pick and could easily trade back and land the top WR or DL player in the draft while picking up additional picks which seems much more likely IMO. If you were to get a package this big you probably needed to move him last offseason when he had an additional year of rookie control. For a package like this now you probably need to find a team like Washington (although ideally not a divisional foe) who will be likely picking around #20, has a cheap QB with plenty of cap space, and needs a player to put them over the top.

The fans clamoring to re-sign the Mouth will be in a tizzy when the self-proclaimed assassin asks for $20 mil to $25 mil a year. Then we shall have 3 players taking up 75% of the yearly cap.
Trade The Mouth and get a No. 1 in 2025 and a No. 2 in 2026.
I think you are way low on the amount he will be asking / demanding per year.

You get your hands on a player like Parsons and anyone associated with the NFL will tell you to build your team around him. It's like having a Queen in chess. He is the type of player like Watt and Boss that needs DLine help because if you expect him to do it all he will be worn out or hurt going full throttle 10 games in. If they can't get him help and figure out how to conserve him for big 3 Rd down pressures than they might as well trade him.

he will not be making 25M average. will not happen. bosa is at 34 and jones at 31. he will be at 35 at least.

I would be all over that trade like white on rice. but doubt if Jags do it. probably a mid to late round team would make multiple trades looking at him as a key piece to get to championship, which means 1st round picks lower in the round, thus multiple first rounders and second rounders required.......I can see perhaps a team like ravens, or packers or lions looking at him as a final piece of a great defense that would allow them to make a run.....
