Yes he did, and his Bears defenses were legitimately good defenses.

Seattle runs a Tampa 2 hybrid. But they have a great DL.

I know Ill be told what an idiot I am but I dont see our DL as that far off. Of course Im projecting further improvement from Irving, Collins and Mayowa but in comparison Chicago didnt sign Peppers or Allen until later I believe. At one point Seattle's dline was pretty no name also. Bennett wasnt a huge signing at the time based on past production. Feel free to correct me if Im wrong, I dont follow either of those two teams enough to feel positive either way. But my point is we really are one "war daddy" away from having a good DL. Again Im projecting improvement from the youth.

I think both Ohio State CBs, Humphrey from Bama, Quincy Wilson from FLA, Moreau from UCLA, and later Kevin King from UW, Witherspoon from Colorado, and Douglas from WVU. I don't see us taking a guy like Adoree Jackson.

Still not sold on this idea that we are going back full Tampa zone concepts until I hear it from someone that matters on the team.

Regardless, we do know that whatever corner (sorry, should probably make this plural) we look at and draft will have to be able to tackle well and not be afraid to stick their helmet on someone.

That eliminates some of them that stand around and look at piles. That probably eliminates Tabor, Tra'Davious White, Rasul Douglas and some others.

I agree with what you are saying. If Tapper is who we thought he was when we drafted him then this defense is much closer than anyone thinks on the DL. The biggest liability on the team last year was linebacker play and church's lack of range at safety and of course pass rushing DE. I really believe the Cowboys thought they had addressed that with Tapper.

I don't think it has that much to do about the "Tampa 2".

More about playing a competent zone coverage scheme period.

The only guy decent at it was Church.

Wilcox/Claiborne quite often appeared lost while playing zone.

Carr's reaction skills (or lack thereof) kept him from being a good zone corner.

I see him falling past 60 easily. Really deep CB class, but suspect speed. I like him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he falls to early day 3
wow interesting. You and Alexander. I thought he was said to be a 1st round pick. I hope he does fall because I liked him.

Terrible plan. The Tampa 2 was figured out 20 years ago. The only way to run it effectively is to have overwhelming talent and be able to get to the QB with your front 4. If you can't, then QBs can pick you apart because WRs are running free all over the place and sitting down in the open spaces.

Yup...exactly

This "move" isn't moving forward...it's going backwards. This one decision is going to set back the entire franchiose 5 years. Horrible idea. Marinellie just needs to go way of the dinasour.

Yup....let's go w/ the guy that guided an 0-16 team. Oh brother...Nice plan.

The more this team has let Marinellie have say in personel decisions...the worse we have become. Absolutely hate this move.:banghead:

Aided by the fact that Jones decided to cover blank turf instead of going with the dude that was killing us the entire game.
2nd hand info, but from what I've read Dave Campo explained that was not on Byron. That Carr vacated his zone to trail wrs that potentially were going to get a hail mary.

Had a vivid dream last night that Dallas went to the 3-4 and it was very successful :muttley:

Smith was 100% and they drafted a stud linebacker with the first pick. I got to stop drinking before I hit the sack :(
