Fortunately for Sanders he brings a ton of pass rush with his game. 11 sacks and 39 pressures last year. You’re getting more than an off ball LBr.
Do not need or care.
I have 15 pass rushers already.

Sanders will be very good for someone but a complete waste here.
I do not need a 50-cent piece version of Micah.
I need everything else.

You should care. LVE is a FA and our LBr room behind him is laughable.

If we don’t resign LVE LBr is arguably one of our biggest needs on the roster and you can never have enough pass rushers.

And you also don’t have enough pass rushers, bc Fowler is a FA and Dorance is in a contract year.

We will see. Dak was tagged twice and did not miss any time. The media is trying to start drama, Lamar will be the Ravens quarterback next season.
Lamar and Dak are two different people with two different aims.
Lamar wants to get back home to south Florida.
He's about to Jimmy Johnson it no matter what BAL does.

Dak was uber concerned about his image and loved being in Dallas.
He knew he was just going to make more money by waiting.
Lamar has already lost a bit of value due to size/injury concerns.

You can easily find a vet LB (quite possibly LVE) and Dallas plays 1 or 2 ever nowadays.
Micah probably needs to play more LB anyway to rest his body.

Dallas can resign Fowler who loves Dan Quinn or they can shuffle in another vet like Robert Quinn. It's not hard to find a 5th pass rusher.

Dallas has:
DLaw, Dorance, Micah, Sam Williams.
Thats a top 3 Edge list without anyone else added at all.
Want to go get an edge in R3? Cool.
Want to use my only R1 pick on one? Absolutely not.

Sam Wiliams was good last year but barely got to play at all because the depth was insane.
All those pass rushers mean little when teams use 3 step drops and beat up on XFL level CBs.
Last thing I do is keep doubling down into team strengths when I have massive weaknesses.

Who told you Lamar wants to be in Miami?  He lost no value because if he was a free agent today he would get the contract he wants. Did you know the Giants offered Daniel Jones a 190 million 5 year contract and he turned it down. Wait until we see the deal Derrick Carr signs.

Dak had not missed significant time due to injury in 2 consecutive years before that

Funny thing is that the Ravens don’t want to give him a guaranteed contract because he is an injury risk but they want him to put himself on the line without a guarantee

Lamar will not play unless he has a long term deal IMO

Yea, I’m all about resigning LVE.

Who’s taking over Barrs role who is also a FA? If we end up with Sanders he takes that job, and also frees you up from paying someone like Fowler and potentially resigning Armstrong. In 1 pick you’ve saved like 4/5 mil in FA and upgraded the LBr room. Dorance is also a JAG. Again don’t think you can have too many pass rushers if you want a great defense. The Eagles had a boatload of dudes that were studs.

I also think you’re kind of pidgeon holing him into either LBr or Edge when he’ll help out at both.

It is personal for the Ravens owner and Lamar/NFLPA. Everyone will be watching this negotiation because it will effect Burrow, Herbert, and Hurts. Strap in because this is gonna be the story of the offseason. The injuries to Lamar mean nothing. He did not have any surgeries unlike Dak and he got the contract he wanted.

IMO injuries to Lamar mean much much more since his dynamic running is a much bigger part of his game than Dak. Another serious injury and he might not get any team to give him a long term deal

I think he knows that and will not step on the field without a long term deal with guarantees

Yeah Lamar was at his athletic best a few years ago when he won the MVP. I noticed he has gotten bigger and stronger since then as well. I actually think Watson/Dak are better quarterbacks but Lamar is probably the best weapon in the NFL when he is right. The guy is a living video game. Lamar is Hurts on steroids.

What did Adrian Peterson ever win?

Great TB but he never lifted a team to a SB.

Build the OL, fill the running back depth chart with FAs and mid round picks.

That’s the recipe.
How about Emmit Smith?

Lamar told me (and everyone else) Lamar he wants to be in Miami.
As to value Lamar was an MVP candidate 12 months ago.
He's not taking any major financial hits but he is also very likely to refuse any gamble.
If they tag him he will likely sit as he has threatened to do.

So you going with a TB who played 3 decades ago? Why not bring up Earl Campbell? Or Tony Dorsett?

The league is different now. Teams are showing over and over and over that you can built good running games without having to pour heavy investments into the TB position.

Barr's role probably goes to Clark.
And they almost certainly shift Micah back to LB more so he can get hit less.
If they don't resign LVE they need to resign someone with starting EXP.

Saying having a top running back hurts you certainly isn't true. They can win with Robinson or Gibbs at running back.

Clark isn’t ready to start. He looked lost and like a deer in the headlights last year.

If he’s a starter our defense goes backwards.

And I’d be shocked if Micah plays more LBr than Edge. They’ve made it clear in the first 2 years they want him rushing most of the time.

It doesn't help you. That's been proven over and over and over and over and over recently.

Build the OL. Hit FA and the middle to late rounds for TBs. That's the recipe that works. By not using top picks on TBs and not spending a crap ton of money (like we are) allows you to invest more into more important positions.

There is zero doubt that the Cowboys ability to get better at some positions was limited by the fact they were eating up significant cap hits for a TB that wasn't all that great or explosive or elite and didn't help us in anyway succeed in the playoffs.

This is the recipe…the golden recipe that I doubt the Cowboys will do bc Jerry is stuck in the 90s.

He’s gonna have us run to the podium for a RB at 26.
