BS!

Who are you gonna believe, medical specialists with 12 years of intense training after 6 years at a premier university followed by decades of practical experience.....or Jerry Jones?

Jerry is just as qualified to offer an opinion as those lying quacks because he's hired doctors. That gives him credibility by osmosis.

Wow...my Negativity Medallion was vibrating like crazy when I entered into this thread. After reading the first two pages, I can see that it's still working like a champ. Geralt would be proud for those in the know. ;):p

If you read Fred's latest Tweet, he said that he's already had two treatments and is feeling so much better from a strength perspective. Obviously, the docs won't give him any sort of timeline as to when he'll be back on the field, but this is a guy who has been playing with this disease for weeks. If the man was able to play/practice with this disease raging inside of him, I truly don't see him being out too long now that they know what the problem is, how it needs to be treated and how much better he feels after just two treatments. Fred is a professional athlete, is young and is as tough as anyone on this team. Just my opinion but I believe that we'll see him back and manning the ship by week 4 at the latest. For the record, I'm NOT a doctor, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night but I am a believer that good things happen to good people and Fred is definitely a good person. :starspin:

Always a pleasure. Last year in was on the jaylon recovery circle. I dont think theres much to worry about. It's a temporary condition that will not affect him after his recovery. I believe it will be short lived and he will recover in 8 weeks max. Then again this is based upon the initial mild symptoms as a prognosis

Thanks for the voice of reason.

Is it pretty cut and dry to determine if a person has recovered?

If mild/caught early, sounds like this could be better than more typical football injuries that tend to linger throughout the season.

So, no rush now, but I assume he's a lock for the IR, hopefully with a chance to return.
He will go on the Active/NFI I would bet, and can come back when medically cleared at any time. No IR or Pup for Frederick!

I guess it depends on how playing through it would effect his recovery which I have no clue either. Obviously he can play with it but doubt he would if it hinders recovery - that would be quite shortsighted on his and the teams part to let him.

They won’t be scoring as many points now because running up the middle just got harder so they need to give up less points a game. That’s where ET comes in.

not sure I buy that but understand the logic somewhat. On the defensive side its always been important to not give up as many points so now just because Fredericks is hurt its more important to not give up points?

Na I just think thats another rationalization for the ET folks. I really dont think hes coming I think if he were gonna be here this year he'd be here by now. In fact one could argue that with Tfred's injury they may have to come out of pocket for a center now and possibly TE all of which in my mind is more important than the safety spot as Woods should be back week 2.

Everyone (except for a few) worrying about the team...
I worry for him.

Football is a damn game. This is his life.

I don't care about the Dallas Cowboys, over his ability to live his life.
Love the man and hope he has a long and healthy life after this with his family.

Now let's go draft a badd-A center next year, yes?
Well stated, sir!

So the bigger picture here is WHO can take his place, looney is raw and really a backup, Martin the toe is gone..who will we go after for a starting center should this be long term? IMO the Cowboys better go after a real Vet, having under center issues like room went through early on , is not good for Young Dak..Fredrick also calls line adjustments..so whos out there? a trade maybe?

I woke up a little depressed after all this sunk in.

First and foremost, depressed for Fred. He doesn't deserve something like this. By all accounts, he's a hard worker, good teammate, keeps his nose clean, just a generally good guy. Feel terrible for him and hope he makes a full recovery. If that means never playing football again, so be it. But most important he has to be able to live his life as normally as possible.

Second, depressed because of what this means for the team. So much is based on Smith, TFred and Martin. Run the ball, protect Dak, eat up clock. Losing the heart of your OL is a huge blow.

Thirdly, depressed because I have doubts this front office has the ability to handle this. As we have seen with the safety spot, they aren't very good at adjusting on the fly and being able to deal with curveballs.

People we are in trouble coming to my state in September. Wow! If anyone out there remember the soul group from the early 70's Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass " Bad Luck " this is us a perfect song.

I hope he recovers, he will be in my prayers.

Important to note that "recover" for most people means return to a normally functional life. NFL football players must go by a different, much higher standard. They are required to be at their physical peak in order to compete at that level. Therefore, I would think there are two different levels of "recovery".It's not clear to me which level experts are referring to.

In the meantime, wouldn't doubt that some teams going through a youth movement are going to release a veteran center. Some recognizable names are going to be available within the next ten days.

No, he can't play through it because it affects motor nerves and causes significant loss of strength.

It doesn't matter how tough he is physically or emotionally, the impairment would make him look worse than Green, with no stamina.

It certainly is encouraging, though, that he's already feeling improvement rather than deterioration. After a few more rounds of plasmapheresis and IVIG, his recovery time should be more predictable. It's conceivable that he only misses a month.

Looney is raw? He's a six year vet that has started 13 games, 3 starts with the Cowboys in 2016. 4th round pick of the 49ers in 2012. He is the starter until Fred comes back.
