Travis Frederick update?

I think it is 50/50, he will not be eligible to return until week 14 to start with. I'm not looking for him to rush back, as I have said I expect him to follow the advice he is getting from those who are treating him.
You must be a politician. You are an expert at not committing.

If we were all completely objective, the NFL would have died off. You would hear people wondering how grown men play child's games, bash each other senseless, run for their lives, talk trash, bring home all that money...
dang, what fun!! Go Cowboys!!!

He has to hit the gym for at least a month before practicing and he needs to practice for a few before playing so we are running out of time

I like your prediction but the truth hurts
Exactly. Everyone here wants to see him play. But I don't think he plays this year. It's a lot to overcome.

lol, being a realist. I can't say any more than what I hear coming from Frederick. He says he is making progress but I can't say how much progress has been made. He is preparing himself by continuing to work out to keep himself in shape that give me 50 of the hope, he has also stated he is still feeling some numbness in his hands and feet so that is the 50% that he is not ready to go. Don't mean to sound like a politician but I think it is foolish to make absolute statements looking from the outside in.

Nobody here is making a factual statement. It's their opinion based on the information that is out there. The I don't know because someone hasn't told me something yet just means you shouldn't even participate in the discussion.

You have statements from Frederick himself, I would take those as factual. The discussion to begin with was is there any update on Frederick.

There's not really anything to commit to. Frederick and his doctors know the situation, we don't know anything except a Mark Schlerath tweet and some Wikipedia articles on Gullein-Barre.

Are people's emotions so fragile they have to play mind games with themselves to avoid disappointments?
Being a tad judgemental..no?

I have followed this team for over 50 years..

you better believe I've had to hypnotize myself to turn on the TV on Sunday to watch this crew.

Doing it now as we speak.

At 2-4..

we as far down as I have ever seen us to start a season.

Except Troy's first year.

I just wish our fans could accept the fact he is not coming back to play anytime this season or postseason. He may not even be strong enough to fully participate at training camp next year.

I guess I am, but while I get the frustration (I've followed the team almost as long as you), I don't get the idea of not even allowing room for hope, and I certainly don't get the idea that always convincing yourself to believe the worst scenario is a better way of life than having hope. The disappointment when things don't end up where we hope can't be as bad as just being miserable from the outset and shunning positivity altogether.

And the reality is, even good teams walk away empty handed far and away most years.

We are actually 3-4 now (keep up man! lol), and while we are down, we do have any emerging defense, and have at least made some moves to help the offense, although admittedly we don't yet know how much. I would say on top of Troy's first season, there have been a few others that looked worse than this year the first part of the season. 2015 was pretty bad, and we were 1-6 at this point in 2010. And then at least the second and third of the 3 straight 5-11 seasons, and, of course the 3-13 season before Troy's first year was miserable as well.

I keep up.

It just gets weary.

Yep..

we old timers have the scars to show for it.

I am still not over that call in our 1st SB where Mel Renfro said he never touched the pass in the air to John Mackey and the Colts went on to beat us with Earl Morrell as their QB becuz Unitas was Injured.

So this year I just refuse to get excited.

We are back to our underacheiving ways again.

What can I say?

Don't get me wrong, I don't dive headfirst into the pool of optimism. I'm still realistic and understand that there are problems. But I look at problems for what they are, and look at positives for what they are, and I accept there are scenarios where a season could go well just as there are scenarios where the season could go bad. It's been a roller coaster, but a roller coaster doesn't exist without positive seasons along with the low ones. Ultimately the lack of playoff appearances and success is what puts a damper on even the up seasons.

Your memory is better than mine, but I'm guessing you are a few years older. I think that first Super Bowl against the Colts may have been the first Cowboy game I watched from start to finish, and the only lingering memories I have from that game are the game winning FG , and then Bob Lilly heaving his helmet what seemed like 30 yards,

At least 30 yards.

Funny you mention Lilly.

Back around 1976 I was going to SMU as a premed student.

I met Kittsy Lilly there.

She was Lilly's recent ex-wife

She was going back to school as she had married young and never finished school.

Gorgeous she was. Still in her early 30's.

So we got friendly and we dated.

I went to her house in Highland Park.

In the den was all of Bob's NFL awards, pics and collectables.

I thought I was in Canton.

Bob was coming the next week to finish moving and so I looked it over.

OJ Simpson had nothing on Bob.

And of course I was a Cowboy fan.

Kittsy was leary of what Bob would say about me inspecting his stuff..

so I looked but didn't touch

Can't say the same about Kittsy if you know what I mean.

They had been sweethearts since college and respected the situation.

Good memories of a Dallas Cowboys fan for sure.

Is this a Dallas Cowboys fan site or a forum on clinical psychology?

Is there a subject relating to my favorite football team that you would care to discuss?
