Travis Frederick update?

I don't think they really care about Fredrick. We do but the FO sees them as players not people. Use em up and spit em out. Win at all costs. If you can't help us you are gone.

How's that for a hard heart towards the FO. If you can't help the team, they will discard you like a piece of trash. That's why I can't complain when a player wants this crazy money. They may not get another chance. jmho
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but JJ has usually gone above and beyond what most would expect when it comes to helping/caring for his players. There are numerous things that fans can pin on JJ, but that's not one of them, IMO.

Schlereth's disease had progressed to the point that he was paralyzed before he got diagnosed. Frederick's case was caught far earlier and all indications are the early detection leads to a much quicker recovery.

Note: That is a summary of nearly everything written on this topic.
So,,,it's not some kind of persistent/ actively aggressive disease?,,, I'm curious ,cuz' if it's genetically linked?,,, what counter measures/ cure, actually stops the progression? Or does the successful treatment just render it in a dormant state? ( I'm clueless on the subject)

Is it simply a sensation or does it actually affect his nerves where he loses control and strength from it?
its all of the above. Depends on the severity too. Sounds like he caught it early...so theres hope. For example, with Lupus, which I have...when you have a flareup, you know it. Lupus "racoon" mask" rash on the face..etc...loss of feeling in patches..ie like facial areas, hands, arms. It just depends. When those nerves are under attack, they arent firing at full strength,so what you get is a dullness,or complete paralysis. Loss of strength comes later after a long flare up event. his disease is similar in many ways as mine. Staying out of sunlight helps too. Along with meds and rest.Flu like symptoms happen too,but not with everyone.

Like Lupus, Fred Beards AI disorder can affect organs as well, like Heart and kidney function. ITS A REAL PAIN IN THE ***! Now just imagine if your an athlete AND WHAT that does to your career. Luckily, he is on top of it early and may respond well. But I just wouldn't count on him this year, maybe never.

Just seein if anyone was awake.

In my case with Lupus, they say its genetic, at least with my family. I have a sibling that has it as well..and shes a nurse. She has seen Fred Beards disease in action where she works, and so..I have some real insight to this stuff. Dormant,yes...but never fully gone. Stressers can make these autoimmune things rear their ugly heads.

I have sort of figured his career is done.

He will not be the same again.

They just don't want to think about it now.

Suddenly one day there will be a press conference and we will be informed..

Blah blah blah..

for reasons of personnel health I retire.
That's exactly the way I'd framed it from the outset, also:(

* we are the same in a lotta' ways,my brother*

my concern is him rushing back too soon. Also, what condition will he be in to take that beating. Nerves are a funny thing when they aint firing right. Don't want to see the young man hurt himself further. Dealing with an autoimmune thing(lupus) myself, I know for a fact that its nothing to mess with and its to be taken day to day. Its foolish to count on him at all at this point. Most doctors can tell you that they are doing studies on lupus and what Fred has because they do not fully understand what factors go into it and cause it...very hard to diagnose ANY autoimmune disease really. Its really up to the individual affected to see what scope they can function physically day to day. I do know the meds for thenerve pain/dullness etc makes you sleepy...and so I fully get it, as to why he just cannot get onto the field. Its a multitude of factors. Its not simple.

And I do not expect him to rush back either. I expect him to do as the doctors tell him. Based on what he has said he is making progress and has been working out 4 days a week in the weight room. When can he return I can't say but based on what Frederick has said he fully expect to be back on the field. Mark Schlereth situation was much worse than Frederick and made full recovery even went on to play 6 years after his recovery. I know every situation is different so again I can't say when he may return, but what I do know is the early diagnosis and early treatment gives him a much greater chance of returning

I think HK is right about this. Mark S went through this. Looney is playing good, this FO has made mistakes by forcing players to come back early. I personally think its best to let it go this season. We re still out of it, thats not going to change. Let TF take care of business and see where hes at next season.
Yeah, they have a history of that, the fools.

Do you think he comes back this year? I don't think so but want to hear your opinion

I think it is 50/50, he will not be eligible to return until week 14 to start with. I'm not looking for him to rush back, as I have said I expect him to follow the advice he is getting from those who are treating him.

Are people's emotions so fragile they have to play mind games with themselves to avoid disappointments?
Well,Bro,ya know? ,,,fans are fans ,,,yet the intensity of one's fandom varies on a broad scale,,, the plasticman is a rock solid gold awesome kinda' separate levelled fan( IMO),,, and that's about the best way I know how to lay that down:starspin:

If we were all completely objective, the NFL would have died off. You would hear people wondering how grown men play child's games, bash each other senseless, run for their lives, talk trash, bring home all that money...
dang, what fun!! Go Cowboys!!!
