The announcers are saying that it should be a no call. They're nuts. When the quarterback is clearly sliding before being tackled, any hit is, at the very least, unnecessary roughness.
what should Geathers had done? Stop on a dime? He wasn't on the ground yet that's why he got nailed. It's fair game.

I thought the hit was unnecessary too, as Trent was well on his slide down, but apparently the Chiefs aren't even going to get a penalty off it....Geathers couldn't 'stop in time'.

Green was getting shelled all day. Defenders literally hurdling the line.

What did Herm do to that offense (ok Saunders is gone) and line? :)

Outside of Joe Theisman's leg break, that might be one of the most disturbing football hits I've ever seen. The way his head hot the turf is vomit inducing

Can't agree with you here, DE. It was a borderline hit but I believe the right "no-call" was made by the refs.
It seems everyone on this thread agrees with you, Draegerman. :) But I don't agree. Green was clearly sliding before the hit. Even if Geathers was pushed into him, it was unnecessary contact.

Could you imagine if that happened on artificial turf?

Thankfully, it was on a real field as opposed to artificial turf.

Did a flag come out? Green obviously gave himself up. What a cheap shot.

His legs were clearly in front of his upper body. His butt was only several inches off the ground. He was sliding before the hit. Even if Geathers 'accidentially' hit him, it's a defender hitting a sliding quarterback. JMO.

IMO he waited way to late to try and slide, he was already launching himself for the hit, and thne TRent started to slide and basically got layed out.

no call,

not much geathers could do bur hey its mine and the refs O :D

dude was already coming downhill and he was blocked into him although did look like he put a little (or alot) of extra force into it, but man that makes for great TV, now hopefully LJ gets some yards and tugs so i can get my fantasy team rollin

Same here. Nice catch and run by him. I have him and Palmer. Cincy needs to quit running it, lol.
