Sick!

I hate seeing ANY player wheeled off the field like that. Hope Green turns out to be ok.

Bengels sure have looked good today tho.

You can't fine him for that hit....He doesn't play for the Cowboys. It's not like his name is Roy Williams or anything.

:lmao2: :lmao:

I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy. Now that is just funny. Good one Jimz.

if he led with his shoulder....

I saw the shoulder pad make contact.

That's fair. If so then not as big a deal to me. I still think the player's helmet made contact thith the QBs helmet. That's still an illegal hit in my book and I believe in the NFL as well.

Speaking of fair, I don't think the league will be fair about this. Geathers will be made an example of IMO. Geathers did not do himself any favors by struting around. That was just shamelful. Again JMO.

And please none of the taking hitting out of football, playing flag football, yada. I'm all for hard hitting. Just not head hunting. I still remember seeing Daryl Stingley (sic) get hit.

I swear when you look at the replay, it looks as if half of Green's helmet suddenly disappears into the ground upon impact. Just awful.

Trent is one of the classiest players in the league. I truly hope that he's going to be okay.

I didn't see any helmet touching, all shoulderpad to helmet. You know the hit is really really bad if in the slow motion replay the bounce looks like it's at realtime speed. Hope he turns out ok.

I thought it looked like a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty to me...

Had the QB that got taken out been Peyton, Favre, Vick, or McNabb...Geathers would get a lifetime football ban, forfeit his salary, and new rules would be implemented.........

It was a totally dirty hit. Green was clearly sliding near the sideline. Heck, his back was practically on the ground when he got hit.
It was not a dirty play. Please.

My original reply was made right after the play, so I'll take the 'dirty' out of it. But I still say that the play should have drawn a flag for unnecessary roughness. I'm also interested in seeing if a fine will be levied against Geathers by the NFL.

A fine? No it isn't going to happen.

Well I have to eat some crow but not all of it. I saw the replays of the hit (which I hadn't seen) and I agree. I would have sworn he speared him and hit helmet to helmet, but I was wrong. I wish now I had waited and seen them before saying some of the things I did.

However, he still hit him while he was sliding. I've played and you can lighten up your hit or even miss the guy. Yes even at that speed. And the guy was on the ground essentially. There is no need to deliberately try to smack someone when they are on the ground. That's still unnecessary roughness in my book.

What really POed me was he looked back at him still lying there and started strutting and acting like a hoodlum. There is no place for that in football AFAIC. I still think that was shameless. Big hits are fine. I loved it. But if they were hurt I was right there beside them.

I guess I shouldn't be so opinionated about this but I dislike this relatively new hoodlum stuff seen on the field. Sorry if I offended anyone.
