Norv Turner was a running OC when he had emmitt ... Im really wondering why Cleveland did this deal. Richardson was an above average RB last year. ***?

Is cleveland this reatrded? I guess so ... :/ Its the NFL version of the Cubs

JMO, but this is a good move for Cleveland. Richardson is good, but there are very few RBs who can be difference makers without talent at QB and WR to take pressure off him (The talent on the o-line is there). Richardson was only going to rack up wear and tear on a bad team, and if they got lucky and found a good QB, he likely would've been done, unless it happened in the next season or two. By trading him now, albeit for far less than you spent on him just last year, you at least get another premium pick to do with as you wish.

The true failure, imo, was how Mike Holmgren handled the 2012 draft. Despite picking before the Commanders and having more ammunition, he allowed them to get the #2 pick and get RG3 and then to make matters worse, he traded up for Richardson, and then did the classic mistake of reaching for a sub par QB in the first round.

Stunning. But then it was stunning they'd actually hire that tool Lombardi to be their GM.

Only possible thing I can think of is that Richardson already has had knee problems... Wonder if they thought it was too degenerative.

But it's more likely a new regime (Lombardi) wanting to put his stamp on the team, etc. Which is stupid.

Richardson had a great rookie season. It's hard to do much as a RB when your QB is terrible and you have zero receivers. The Browns could have drafted DeCastro instead of Weeden and solidied their OLine with him, Joe Thomas, and Alex Mack. Then they could've gotten their QB in 2014. What a terrible, terrible pick.

Good trade. This is a QBs league now. RBs are a dime a dozen. Browns can stack up for the future now.

Yeah, he's hurt though I believe.

For all the gripes about Murray Richardson has averaged about 3.5 per carry. The Browns have also invested heavily in their oline but it is difficult to be a good offense trying to run on a division of good 34 defenses and the Bengals.

Great move by Cleveland, rbs are a dime a dozen and they now can go get any QB they want in the draft.

Great move? Can't say that I agree. They just draft him 3rd overall and will probably get a pick in the teens just a year later.

Richardson would make our offence so much better and wed get great value getting him for a low 1st. I'd do it.

Hell of an offense the Colts should have.

Type of player u have to game plan for.

DeCastro does not look a lot better than Weeden, honestly.

The problem with the Dallas offense isn't the back. It's the scheme that asks the back to run behind a weak OL and some poor blocking TEs straight into 8 man fronts.

They need a QB, now they have the ammo. You can always get a good RB in the later rounds. I'ts a good move by the current administration, now Holmgren drafting a RB with the 3th pock was terrible.

Wow, this was a good move (for both teams at this point, but, really, for the Colts). That'll end up being a late round first for a real franchise back to pair with Bradshaw. It was insanely stupid for the Browns to take Richardson in the first place when they needed the QB, but they did it. Now, the new regime knows they need to bundle in a deep QB draft to get their pick of the litter. Getting the first rounder helps them do what they should have done in the first place.

For the Colts, though, it's a premium pick at a position you can fill elsewhere, but for a team looking to build around the Stanford-style running game with an elite QB, it was a really bold move. This guy's physically special as RBs go, so you can justify the premium to get him. Pretty cool move, all around.

Bama RB's are way overrated. They run behind 5 NFL o lineman blocking college level talent for the most part. They run through gaping holes and put up big college stats. Where is Ingram and why does Richardson have a 3.5 ypc though his 1st 17 games? Of course, Richardson is going to be better on the Colts with a legit passing game, but I still don't think he's anything special. Browns got a 1st round pick they can replace with a 3rd-4th round pick. Good move by them. Drafting him #3 on the other hand.....
