Wow, this was a good move (for both teams at this point, but, really, for the Colts). That'll end up being a late round first for a real franchise back to pair with Bradshaw. It was insanely stupid for the Browns to take Richardson in the first place when they needed the QB, but they did it. Now, the new regime knows they need to bundle in a deep QB draft to get their pick of the litter. Getting the first rounder helps them do what they should have done in the first place.
For the Colts, though, it's a premium pick at a position you can fill elsewhere, but for a team looking to build around the Stanford-style running game with an elite QB, it was a really bold move. This guy's physically special as RBs go, so you can justify the premium to get him. Pretty cool move, all around.
