Yes it's all crap, even when you own your home you never really own your home. They tax us until we are dead and then tax that as well. At least they are "responsibly" spending our tax dollars on nonsense often times.

Ps my property taxes are costing me 400.00 a month, than they were 5 years ago. It's gotten out of hand.
Our mortgage just went up. I'm like, "Wait a second. I thought I had a fixed rate?"

Well, property taxes are going to be there just like utility costs. And those always go up.
Still, it's better paying property taxes than paying property taxes AND a mortgage.
Uncle Sam is ALWAYS going to get his money one way or another. Shrug.

P.S. the South and the Southwest have some of the lowest property taxes in the country.
Some of these $550,000 homes in Texas would cost $2-3 million in California.
Actually property taxes in Texas are much higher than in California. 1.8% in Texas vs 0.76% in California. It's because there's no state income tax in Texas. We have one of the highest property tax rates in the country.

I thought I may retire in College Station. I can see now it's unsustainable. I'll look for an acre or two in a small town outside of the city. Maybe then I won't be gouged on fake appraisals.

Federal/State taxes apply also. Players have to pay taxes on games played in other States.

Throw in some poor money mgmt skills and greedy agents/owners…

$5500/month to lease a home in Frisco now? We are turning into California.
Unfortunately happening here in Boise too. Californians are coming here in droves and it's spiked the real estate market through the roof. It's bananas.
