The Cowboys need to establish over the next 2 years which of the following Lance is:
1) A franchise QB as good or better than Dak (very unlikely)
2) Starter level in the league they can flip for a higher draft pick than what they gave up when they extend Dak.
3) A player that is no better than a back up and trade value is lower round pick. Possibly could be re-signed as a back-up to Dak
4) A complete bust (49ers were right to give up on him) and will need to be cut.
The sooner they establish which of the above is correct, the better for everyone. The clock is ticking..
