I see some really great potential with Lance. I've noticed even someone post a breakdown video, folks on here only want to talk about the negatives. Lance had some really good plays and showed the potential at times.

Again, he is young with no ceiling on his potential. The sky is the limit and yes on the flip side Lance could bust and fade out. He the 2nd most talented QB on the team behind Dak right now

Its clear he has regressed since the ankle injury. 15 INT in 12 games played. Just to add, this season will be very telling. He has the help, OC change, there are no more excuses left.
Are you serious? This proves you absolutely wrong! lol. I can't believe some posters (whom I respect and consider football savvy) actually liked your bunk!

Here, let me explain what you provided as "evidence" to you...

This career long statistical graph actually proves Dak has gotten better, not worst, if you put all context into it...

In 2019, Dak threw for 4,902 yards (just 2 yards shy of a Cowboys franchise season record) with a 65% completions percentage, 30 TDs and only 11 INTs. Pretty darn good!

In 2020, Dak threw for 1,856 yards in only 4.25 games before suffering an atrocious season-ending leg injuries, yet he completed 68% of his passes, had 9 TDs, 4 INTs but was on pace to throw for 6,000 yards which would have shattered Peyton Manning's single season NFL passing record of 5,477 yards.

In 2021, Dak threw for 4,449 yards with a 68.8% completions percentage, a Cowboys single season record 37 passing TDs with only 10 INTs.

In 2022 with only 1 legit WR playing on the team, an oft-injured Oline and only 1 legit RB who was being used part-time, Dak still threw for 2,860 yards with a 66.2% completions percentage, 23 TDs and 15 INTs while missing 5 games due to a broken thumb. The Offense was depleted of weapons and it stunk due to injuries and predictable playcalling and poor coaching. The O-Coordinator, Oline coach, RBs coach, QBs coach and a few others were fired at the end of that 2022 season, yet Dak still was able to help lead the team to a 12-5 record, totally dismantled, beat and forced retirement on Tom Brady and his Buccaneers at Tampa Bay during the wildcard round of the playoffs, and almost pulled off an upset against the 49ers and their #1 overall Defense at San Fran with a majorly depleted Offense.

With this year's 2023 team much improved both with players and coaches, and a much healthier team, Dak and the Cowboys should be able to go even further if they stay healthy and execute this new and improved Texas Coast Offense. Last night, we got to see Dak be playcaller on the sidelines and call an outstanding last preseason game where the offense scored 31 points and put up almost 500 yards of offense. Dak called a perfect game. Signs of what's to come this 2023 season.

If you and your Dak critiquing supporters can't see the light and realize how much better Dak has gotten with time, I don't know what else to say but you guys are lost. Seriously.

The film shows Lance has a good arm and he is athletic. The problem is he has limited reps as a quarterback over the years. The kid has thrown 400 passes since he was in college. Lance’s problem as a Cowboy is Dak rarely gives up reps in practice. I don’t see how he will get enough work in the offseason either. Lance needs to play. I think the Cowboys will at least develop a goal line package for him. The kid basically will be in the same situation in Dallas then he was in San Francisco.
Dak don't take all the reps lol. You don't think backups get reps? Now if you would've said 1st team reps that would've been different, but you didn't.

This is the new NFL. Reps are limited in regular season practices. One of the reasons that teams trade big name quality backups is because of limited reps. With Dak and Rush, Lance reps will be with the scout team.

I think Lance will get the opportunity. Hopefully the kid grasps the playbook early and is coachable.

Dak’s internal clock sucks, so there is a pretty decent chance that Dak gets planted in the turf with at least some degree of regularity.

I might be wrong, but in my opinion, the Cowboys didn’t trade for Lance to stay behind Rush for long. Rush is NOT that good.

Still getting reps. The reps ain't limited, the padded practices are. You think all the backups on the team is just sitting back watching the starters practice?

Reading defenses poorly, Stuck on one WR, costly turnovers, needs all pro WR's to be successful, and needs them to be wide open. Sounds like Dak to me tbh.
News flash, you don't make it in this league by just looking at 1 WR. That bs has been disputed plenty of times. There's plenty of videos of Dak going through his progressions lol. Yall really do be exposing yallselves

The starters are getting the quality reps. This is not Jimmy Or Parcells Cowboys teams. The rules have changed MM believes in saving players for the games. Lance problem is he has not played much football. What you hope is next preseason he gets all the game reps.

You might be referring to Dak here. I thought Dak did great being Star trek transported into starting QB.

However...let's take pause here...not every starting rookie QB gets a team like that (2016). Most high round, sought after pedigreed NCAA QB's go to a crappy team via first couple rounds given to the worst teams.

Would be great if this kid's reset produces our next starting QB!
People need to stop saying that, Dak and Elliot both came to a team that won 4 games. If they was a good team they at least go 8-8.

This I agree with
I get you brother. You are an intelligent poster. Who does not have an agenda. I think Lance will get a shot. Dak has been hurt the last 3 seasons and has missed games. Lance has elite quarterback traits. Jerry will demand to see what he has over Rush.

Elite QB traits for Lance? Where? What traits are those bro? I don't see much at all.

Lots of scout team reps I would think. No reason to use Rush for those.

Exactly but Lance needs to play. I don’t think it was a smart trade. To bad football does not have a minor league system.
Right. I would love to see him be given a starting job in the USFL or XFL to get more reps. It's too bad the NFL isn't willing to work something out with one of those leagues as a way to groom young players.

Every QB has good plays. Even Dak haters admit that Dak plays well at times but also does bad plays.

My concern with Lance is he has very limited starting experience and so far in the NFL he hasn't been that good. Again, he was skilled enough to be drafted 3rd over all. You expect some good plays just from pure athleticism. It's not a Ryan Leaf situation.

I think this trade is good for him. He comes here with minimal expectations and so he can learn. There no pressure.

It's also good for Cowboys. We have only invested a 4th rounder.

I hope for his sake. And our sake he turns out to be good. We get a couple of years to find out
