RG3 please. Get him another WR. One that can actually be elite on the future ( we have none). Then boost the D for him, and we are good.

Tony Robo is pretty much done for

You keep repeating this but you have no data to back it up. Being injured prior to age 38 for a QB is not predictive of anything but is the norm. Yes repeat injuries if you are insisting on calling a fractured collar bone as a repetitive injury are not predictive unless you start looking at unstable knees or a really bad throwing shoulder perhaps rarely an elbow on the dominant side.

So in addition to Dez, we need another top 5 WR for this offense to function?

Seems like a lot of resources being devoted to the WR core, especially when I look around at the playoff teams this year and a lot of them are trotting out nobodies at WR.........am I missing something:huh:

First, Dez is no longer top 5. He has some work to do to get back there. Drafting Treadwell will give us just one good wide out.

Rethink the part about injury and losing potential, abstractly...

Yeah, Dez needs to go. I rather have a guy like AB or Odell prototype, rather than a big body guy, who all he wants to do is take flight for jump balls. Dez has no craft to his game

Ok now this is crazy talk. None of this was even said by anyone before 2015. I know people are down on Dez after a rough 2015 season. But until another 2015 season happens, that was more of an aberration than anything else. And if Dez has to go, 31 other teams would RUSH to get him. Not to mention, if Dez is healthy, he's the least of our problems.

Typical fan boy response. Quick to insult, when somebody says something negative about your baby.

Look man, we tried to replace him with proven washed up scrubs. Maybe I need to be more specific. We need to replace Romo with anyone who has some sort of pedigree. Whether they use to be good, or have a good background coming out of college.

I know you love you some Romo, and everyone on the roster. We could even maybe sign Quincy Carter back, and you would find a way to say it's ok. Which is cool, but don't insult people who don't have the same opinion as you, or love everything the cowboys do, good or bad. Just makes you look like a huge teenage cheerleader.

-The cowboys are having a bad year, and MO sucks.

-You- "What? Are you stupid? The cowboys are great, it was the nfl's fault why we had a bad year. The whole cowboys organization must have taken a turn with your thot of a girl. Idiot"

No, I don't think so. Wanta win a SB you almost always need an elite QB. Romo is an elite QB and almost surely will be for another two years; probably three.

Don't really want either, but I would rather have RG3 if I have to pick.

Manziel is just a name, people.

Dude does not possess either an NFL QB body/skill set nor an NFL QB brain.

He is not going to change, and wearing the star on his helmet would only exacerbate his issues.

RG3 can't read a defense in the NFL anymore-- but at least he's matured in the last year.

Agreed.

I'd like to bring RG in on a make good contract.

I would also. The highest valued position of need, is currently a backup quarterback. Tony Romo is the franchise player there.

RGIII is talented and still has a pretty high potential as a quarterback. Giving him time and a role that he can once again grow through, could help him and the Cowboys. The drama, more than normal, won't be as high as if he were the starting QB for America's Team. But he would still be challenged to apply is focus and talents, as he would still be a single injury away from play. In the NFL, that is tough for any team, not just the Cowboys.

Eliminating high need in free agency, and enough cap room to make this deal...could be a large step in the off season.

Dont count out Driskel and Hogan

I really respect your opinions, and enjoy your posts.

That being said, I have to say a huge "no" to both Hogan and Driskel, but especially the former. Hogan's throwing motion is LONG and slow. It's like an outfielder making a throw to home plate - it starts from his hip and comes all the way over the top. With the speed and reaction times of NFL-caliber defenders, he'll be defended very easily (IMO). I like Drskel a little better, but I have a hard time dismissing how horrid he was at Florida. He redeemed himself somewhat at La Tech, but against a lower level of competition. I don't think either of them will ever be a starter in the NFL.

As for the OP, I sure as hell don't want Manziel in Dallas, but would "settle" for RGKnee if there are no better options available. I think he's damaged goods, both physically and mentally. He'd have to reinvent himself to fit in this offense, to top it off.

RG3 for the short term. Long term probably won't be solved this off-season.

if short term is all he would be, why would we want him. I think we have seen enough of the 1-2 year qbs, haven't you? We aren't going to see a #4 pick again until it is too late (Romo being done done). RGIII would have to come in here with the expectation being that we still grab Goff or Lynch (or Carson later in 2nd even) in this years draft, otherwise don't bother with RGIII.

Manziel, well don't even bother with him at all

RG3 isn't the runner he once was but still has a physical toolset worth taking a flyer on. Especially, as a backup if you're thinking Romo is only going to need relief 3-4 games a year due to minor injury. Who better to teach him a thing or two than a guy who had to sit back and learn himself?
Of course, this is all from the perspective from the current owner/gm so tread lightly.....

This is Jones trying to shop the bargain basement bin and come up with an answer like Romo. But Jones did not find Romo.
And they will poor boy the draft in regard to finding a real future QB.

The window may have closed on this team, and it doesn't matter that Romo has something left in the tank. Jones got a chill and closed it himself.

Troy Aikman: 'I believe either Manziel or RG3 will be in Dallas' in 2016
By Ryan Wilson | CBSSports.com

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on...ther-manziel-or-rg3-will-be-in-dallas-in-2016

...In fact, FOX Sports NFL analyst Troy Aikman, a Cowboys legend and Hall of Famer, wouldn't be shocked at all if one of those two scenarios played out.

"I believe as I sit here today that either Johnny Manziel or Robert Griffin III will be in Dallas as a backup (next year)," Aikman told SI.com's Maggie Gray.

Aikman was asked to rate how shocked he'd be by the move on a scale of 1-10 ("1" being not at all, and "10" very much so): "Four and maybe a 1."

Put another way: Aikman -- and just about everybody else -- would be more surprised if Manziel or Griffin don't end up in Dallas, probably because of quotes from Jones like his response to a question about "young backup quarterbacks available this offseason who come with some risk":...
