I personally feel Tony has been the best QB in franchise history. I wish he'd had a better supporting cast for his prime years.

Shame.
he probably is in some ways, but playoff games and the win or go home games, he hasnt played well himself.
Not that he lost the games, but he didnt play great either.
He also seems to have bad luck .

Mark Sanchez has won twice as many playoff games than Tony. That is not good.

Neither Mark Sanchez nor Tony Romo have won or lost any playoff games.
Their teams have though.

Fwiw, Tony Romo has a 4;1 TD to Int ratio in career playoff games.
In the 2014 playoffs, he led the entire league in PLAYOFF QB rating.
For his career, he has one of the better playoff QB rating in NFL

His playoff QB rating (93) is better than
Eli's, Aikmans's, Staubach's, Bradshaw's, Young's.. even Brady's

I realize you know this, but it truly is a team game

He was real high on Williams during training camp, really liked what he saw only to watch Williams go bust. Troy much like Roger Staubach has always had good things to say about our QBs. This isn't to say Dak isn't going to turn out but Troy has always had good things to say about our QBs including Quincy Carter.
I don't remember the Quincy thing either but I could be forgetting for sure. I've tried to wipe out that part of my memory

Being a former QB of the team Troy has always been complimentary of all our QBs showing great support for them.

I wonder if the same people who scoff at Troy when he said Romo is a better quarterback than he ever was will turn around and view his message about Dak as gospel.

I suspect they might.
I don't recall anyone scoffing at Troy for supporting Romo. I recall a huge part of our population (including me) being overwhelmingly thankful for Romo finally having the opportunity to permanently replace a statuesque Bledslow.

Of course Troy supports Romo. That was never in question. And of course there was post Bledsoe excitement. That also wasn't in question.

What I said was Trot called Romo a better player than he was. That was I'm fact dismissed by the large contingent of fans who have seen a great player come and go over the last 10 years and stubbornly failed to notice.

it is a team game, and like I said it wasnt just tonys fault in the losses.
In playoffs, stats dont matter, it is doing the right thing at the right time, and also having some luck.
Like when tony threw to dez on 4th and 1, in GB, I dont think that was the right thing, It was too risky for 4th down at that point in the game.

Without having a great or even real good defense it becomes more up to tony and the offense to win the games.
And in playoffs he is usually going to be facing one of those real good defenses. makes it hard for ol Tony.

It's a shame die-hard fans don't feel the same way.

The die hard fans haven't had much to be upbeat about. I mean, when a franchise goes 20 years and has just 1 single playoff win over that time frame, kinda hard to keep the fan base morale up. Couple that with a head coach that has won more than 8 games just one single time in his entire coaching career, and you get a lot of pessimistic fans.

Just saying it goes with the territory, its a mediocre team with a mediocre head coach.............that is not going to excite most fans.

I think Links is confusing Hutch with Henson. After Henson's workout, Aikman told Jerry "you know what you have to do," or something to that effect, inferring that Jerry sign Henson.

No, Troy gushed over Hutchinson when we won on Thanksgiving one of those Campo years. Said he really liked him. 2002?

Most hard core Cowboys fans actually know how many play off games we've won in the past 20 years.

Well I would imagine a die hard fan would actually know that we have more than 1 playoff win in the last 20 years. But hey what do I know?
