Troy was right about the monkey

It's truly embarrassing.

From the countless threads discussing clapping being our downfall, now a monkey. I'm wondering how some members even get their pants on correctly in the morning.

With certain topics being banned now, it limits what can be discussed. I mean do you want to see threads breaking down yesterday's game, really? If you want to discuss the draft or the players in the draft, that removes the next set of topics. The upcoming playoffs and teams in them is done in another board, so there is a few threads. What topics would you like to see? This is the kind of stuff that is going to be discussed now because of the restrictions.

If you tell me Joseph Randle's odd behavior was a distraction, I would understand it.
If you told me RoMc's house burning and subsequent arson investigation was a distraction, I would understand it.
If you told me the Greg Hardy situation, the pictures and constant questions were a distraction, I would understand that as well.
But, if you tell me that a pet monkey that was reportedly NEVER in the locker room was a distraction, then this team has much, more bigger problems.
Charles Haley bringing his dogs to the practice field was more of a distraction than some monkey.

This place is unbelievable sometimes. The next thing you know, getting married and having babies will be a distraction.

There are threads that are banned? Pretty sure the admins and moderators have just asked us to post in the correct sub-forums.

And if you can't discuss anything outside of "Jason Garrett claps!", you have a agenda you want to be pushing. There are plenty of things to discuss, from yesterdays game, to current players, to the draft, to hopes of next season WITHOUT it being put in a way of a hormonal teenager who just got dumped for the first time.

Please tell me you actually do understand that no topics are actually banned.

I swear, some of you guys would fight for your right to have sewage in your drinking water and confuse it with a Free Speech issue.

Wow.

I don't know how I didn't think about the fact that this BS was going to come up.

Shame on me for not seeing this one coming.

They say some people can't handle a big contract. Dez Bryant is in the same league as other elite WRs with his salary only, because he isn't as talented or committed to his skill set. Often injured, slow or just plain dumb, lazy Prima Donna crack baby with a million dollar necklace, ear rings, a monkey, he can't run accurate routes and drops balls.

What could be rotten about him.

When you get lost on the way to Stormfront.

Hilarious posters taking Troy's comments literally.
He's not blaming a monkey for anything. He's saying that there becomes a lack of focus when distractions begin to flourish. "Players bringing in tailors and pets", owners bringing in Princes to championship game locker room speeches, Domino games in the weight room.
These things eventually become distractions to the focus of the objective at hand. As these distractions become acceptable, they snowball to larger other distractions and there is no leadership to hold draw a line or put a stop to them. They eventually get out of hand and focus to win football games is an afterthought. I think Dez's monkey reminded Troy of what he and the team went through during those unfocused/unsuccessful days. But hey, who's to question the leadership and focus of the present day DC?

Dez is turning into Apollo Creed when he should have kept following the Rocky path.

Keep working, no distractions, fancy cars, clothes, jewels. He should really watch that movie

"Once a guy buys a pet monkey, the wheels have fallen off".

You must be kidding.

This place is insufferable sometimes. This is one of those times.

The monkey has nothing to do with anything.

I don't think he is talking about the monkey as much as he is the locker room being out of control

Dez is not too passionate. I giggled when I read that. Dez is too immature and I don't think he understands the game. Dez has to rise to every word that a DB throws at him. He can't just make a catch and run back to the huddle. He makes a catch and dances around...in fact, I saw TWill do that yesterday and I said to myself, "dude, you're in last place and you made 7 yard catch. You didn't win the SB with that catch."

I am so over Dez. The freakish talent that he brings isn't out-weighing the garbage that is following him. We do not have strong leadership here to guide Dez so we'd be better off with guys that have less talent (and baggage).

Buying a pet monkey is a sign of personal immaturity. Monkeys just shouldn't be pets, except maybe experienced trained animal handlers. I doubt Dez fits that description. Does that personal immaturity reflect on the football field or in the locker room? Not sure about that.

It's remarkable how clueless people are on why it *is* a big deal.

It's a big distraction of itself and is a symptom that all manner of distractions are permitted.

I could care less if Dez owns a monkey at his home. But having that around the locker room is loony.

Where was it ever confirmed or reported that Dez's monkey was ever anywhere near the locker room?

Or are you just making things up?

Officials in DeSota, where Dez resides, have already announced that the monkey Dez had has been turned over to an accredited sanctuary where he can be cared for properly.

Maybe thats the problem. Dez is too broken up over losing the monkey to focus.
