I don't think the monkey had anything to do with it but Dez sucked this year.

The more interesting part to me was that Aikman said the 'locker room was just in complete disarray'...and mentions Oronde Gadsden having a monkey as one example.

Aren't locker rooms supposed to be largely policed by the players who are team leaders? Gadsden was a rookie undrafted free agent in 1995 (the only season he was with the Cowboys). So an undrafted rookie did whatever he wanted to do in a locker room that included 6 future HOF'ers (Aikman, Allen, Smith, Irvin, Sanders, Haley)...and also guys like Novacek, Woodson, Nate Newton, Tuinei, Williams, Johnston, Bates, Hennings, etc.? I find that more disturbing personally. Also interesting, was that guys like Irvin, Sanders, Haley, etc...had their own issues. Gadsden also reportedly credited Irvin with helping to teach him how to play WR.

Dez is simply in the same boat Murray is in. They got paid so their main motivation is gone. Both were playing last season with one thing in mind, money. That's it, end of story. Neither has the desire to be great, I don't care what they say. They had a desire to sign a large contract and that was it. I don't want to hear about injuries. An injured foot doesn't make you drop pass after pass that's right in your hands when you've been a top notch WR since you were 10 years old. It's lack of focus and desire that does that.

It didn't seem like a shirtless Dez yelling after the team beat the Giants while limping of a broken foot just cared about getting paid.
It didn't seem like Dez rushing himself back from an injury that kept guys like Julio Jones out an entire season was only motivated by the check he already cashed.
It didn't seem like Demarco Murray only cared about a paycheck in philly when he decided to yell out our playcalls, push our kicker, or get so upset over playing time that he went above his coach and GM's head and spent an entire team flight sitting with Jeffrey Laurie.

If players getting paid bothers you so much you may want to consider investing more of your time and energy into college football.

These guys all have an ego and pride from being celebrated as the best athletes their entire life....they have family, friends, former coaches and teamates and enemies watching them perform each day and none of them would be able to reach the level they have achieved without having a motivation that goes much deeper than a paycheck.

Maybe thats the problem. Dez is too broken up over losing the monkey to focus.

Possibly -- there's also the possibility that he soon discovered his monkey was up to way too much "monkey business" to keep around.
That could make the novelty wear off quickly. I've got a feeling it takes a great deal of patience and special care to accommodate them.

And that care is never ending. Kids grow up eventually and need less constant monitoring. Monkeys, not so much.

They say some people can't handle a big contract. Dez Bryant is in the same league as other elite WRs with his salary only, because he isn't as talented or committed to his skill set. Often injured, slow or just plain dumb, lazy Prima Donna crack baby with a million dollar necklace, ear rings, a monkey, he can't run accurate routes and drops balls.

What could be rotten about him.

Please tell me this is sarcasm. Often injured? Lazy? Committed? Those 3 should never been in the same sentence as Dez

What an absolutely horrible post and analysis.

What's wrong with you?

Im giving him the benefit of the doubt that it was sarcasm, if it wasn't, he needs an examination by an accredited neurologist, and a new team to follow.
