If that idiot doesn’t touch the ball, we win on a FG. Big Mac didn’t trust our offense (and he was right), and they did partially block the punt. I like that Big Mac was aggressive.
You mean the big Mac that called 3 straight pass plays with 5 minutes to go after Rico had a 12 yard run. Note to Mac,, Rush can't throw the ball and Rico had a career day.

You go for the block which they executed. They didn't count on the ghost of Sam Williams on special teams popping up. They had a better chance to win the game than relying on a 1 in 20 "what if" chance with Turpin. They would have been at midfield if the dude doesn't touch the ball.

They don't go for the block and Cincy directional punts it out of bounds, then what? Or they get good coverage and Turpin fair catches, then what? Turpin is good but he's not automatic.

....with tied game and you have one of best kickers in NFL.

Who the hell comes up with these plays? ...lol..

They deserve to lose, all I can say.
:hammer: ...Honestly the play was to set up a return and get the most yards so you could set up your best weapon for the win. But hell no...Our idiot special teams coach just had to be the hero....instead of just doing his job. He's just gotta go....he costs you more games...than he wins because of his dumb decision making.

It's ridiculous to blame the punt block. Vigil saw an opportunity and made a huge play.... a game clinching play given Aubrey's range.

The problem is the practice squad call-up was apparently not coached for this situation and didn't flee from the football as everyone knows you should.

Because of maybe....what we actually did? We blocked the freaking kick. Best possible result you can ask for on a punt play.
blocking a punt is one of the least likely outcomes. It rarely happens. What happens far more often is some knucklehead running into the punter and drawing a penalty. The smart play in that situation is to block for Turpin not go for an unlikely blocked punt.

So true. Rush was exposed. Play Lance even if it’s for a draft pick by some other team

He had a clear lane and blocked the punt. It just happened.

Exactly….. nbd it was the player who touched it that ruined the play. Heck could have happened to Turp ie a muff umm it did on his big play. It’s over we moved up in the draft time to move on..

This post is ridiculous. The boys successfully blocked a punt- which is a hard thing to do without penalty.

They didn't call for a blocked punt.

Fassel could have gathered the players told them we are are setting up for a return let’s let either Turpin return one or get Aubrey in FG range ….do not go near the punter ( Sam Williams hangovers ) .

It’s called Coaching

I'm not sure what the problem is. It worked. All they had to do is stay away from the ball.

#27 has 2 chances to not screw it up yet he blew both of them........This team has too many players that simply do NOT execute when called on.

He blocked the punt. Not wanting a blocked punt is stupid.

And the player that touched it had his back turned and when he turned around the ball was coming right at him. He didn't have time to think and it just happened. All of these guys saying how stupid he was would have done the same thing.
