Turpin "Guys don't have to think in McCarthy's offense. They just go out and play fast."

A guy named Rodgers thrived in McCarthy's offense, even won a Super Bowl. It's difficult to guess how well Dak will do in the new offense, when all we've seen is Air Coryell since well before he arrived. It's going to be interesting to see the parallels between Justin Herbert/Kellen Moore and Dak Prescott/Mike McCarthy play out.

Comparable offensive talent, comparable QB's, McCarthy has a much better resume, but Kellen is really good. A shift in offensive philosophy is not an indictment on the QB, but rather a move to streamline an already really good unit to the head coach's standard. I think we will see better situational playcalling, a better use of the run game, and a QB that's put in a position to do what he does best...play instinctive football. Is it really such a bad thing to shift to a championship proven offensive philosophy when the last one amounted to only a handful of playoff wins?
Rodgers hated Big Mike.

Probably still does. that dude holds a grudge.

Probably not something you want the other 31 teams to know...

Nope…..that’s not what it’s saying. Its just PR cleanup at this point

Jerry and MM officially said, Dak will have less pre-read thinking, less post-read thinking , and more dump offs .

a Rose by any other name still smells like boo-boo
And let's be crystal clear, this is a good thing for the Cowboys. Regardless of your stance on Dak it's clear there was a lot of miscommunication between he and the WRs. First step, be on the same page.

I understand the communication aspect of it but what concerns me is they are already making a vanilla offense even less complex……we all have seen reports from players on other teams saying how predictable and rudimentary our offense has been. just have to wait and see how it pans out come playoffs…..again.

It is indeed dumbing down the plays for Dak. A ridiculous development . Teams never win super bowls by bumbing down, MM is out of whack and it will show . The team has already tried every conceivable option to help dak reach or win a SB. Nothing has worked with him , and the excuses are running out.
Teams definitely do win Super Bowls by dumbing down the system. That’s exactly what they did in New England before they beat the Seahawks and the Rams. Belichick went to a one word play call system that allowed their offense to play incredibly fast and take the thinking out of the game.

You are talking about new england with the goat at the helm , yes tom brady. Plus the best coach in NFL history,
We don't have anyone close to these two with Dak and MM. It is a different stratosphere . 8 years of nothing with Dak and 4 years of nothing with MM. No CCG or a SB appearance . Cowboys fans are sick of the mediocrity.

True. Personnel does make a difference. I feel like football as a whole is getting more simplified in its play calling though. Jon Gruden’s offensive calls, which were a mouth full, are going by the wayside. Everyone is focused on quick calls and up tempo. I don’t even think it’s the best thing myself but it seems to be going that way.

Turp better remember the ball next time. It cost us the game. Controlled chaos is only great when u can play fast UNDER CONTRL and be smart. He wasn't. Rico wasn't. But the great thing is, its camp. We will fix it. We did some nice things.

Well, we already knew Dak isn't much of a thinking man so apparently he will fit well in a non-thinking, dumbed-down offense.
They are bringing all the player to Dak level
this system will be exposed by other teams once the season start

The main issue with the current cowboys roster is that Dak is not a big stage performer when playing top notch teams, playoffs or regular games. An overachieving 4th rounder who has done well at times and has certainly cashed it in with jerry . But i doubt he is the guy to take this team to a SB win. Simple palybook or complex., he is just not that guy unfortunately. Every time i think he is turning the corner he actually regresses.

Well if it eases your mind think about how well Flacco, Eli Manning and Nick Foles played on their way to a SB and how they have never been consistent big game performers.

vanilla offense? what is less complex? its simplifying the pre-read snaps and the post snap reads for WRs. the problem with Moore was the WRs had to read and react and adjust late in their routes. and have the QB do the same read, from different angles. all in the span of 2,3 seconds. chances of not being on the same page was high.

I always took issues with Moore's play calling and its more and more evident there were issues.

You need a brilliant team management and coaching to win a sb with Dak‘s deficiencies. Flacco is good example , the ravens had a masterful coaching and FO .
manning is better than Dak , especially in crunch time . He was gold . I dont see a single big game where Dak performed to save the team . Manning has 2 rings . !
the cowboys have an over the hill coach and a businessman as GM , keen on attention and 10 win seasons . The result is the 28 year wait goes on …

Are you seriously putting Brady and Dak on the same level?
