Fair enough. Although stupidity is a logical answer from the he viewpoint of just how the world is and the fact that stupid people exist.

But I hear what you’re saying.
LOL! I cannot offer any cogent argument against what you've said here. The thing about stupid people is that they don't even know they're stupid. They just walk around all day every day doing and saying stupid things like it's normal. With regard to Turpin or any other good player on this Cowboys roster the strategy should always be to maximize their talents, surround them with good teammates, and if you have someone on the roster who can do their job better, let the prove they can do the job better and continue the cycle. This business of wanting to dump any player as soon as he reaches the point where he can get a market value contract is ridiculous. Not only does it keep your team full of glaring holes but it brands you as a franchise to be avoided when free agents are looking around for jobs. With as much as these players all socialize and train together in the offseason getting labeled as the team that won't take care of its players is not one you want to have.

Of course people will inevitably point out the Patriots success as the example to follow. Frankly the Pats benefitted from an all time great head coach and an all time great QB. The Chiefs have the same advantage. But even at that the Chiefs paid CJ and Kelce! Just like the Pats paid the guys they truly valued over the years too. Point is, the Cowboys don't have an all time great head coach nor do they have an all time great QB. They're both very good, but not on that all timer level. So they need help. Which makes rushing to move on from good players just plain.. well as you said.. Stupid.
