Twice as many game ending INTs since 2006

Can you please source these stats? No other quarterback has thrown more than 3 INTs in the "final" minutes of the 4th quarter with a small lead or the game tied? I don't buy that.

I said they said it on First Take. Ask Stephen A for a source. This thread is pointless. People love Romo more than the Cowboys.

I watched the Patriots game yesterday. He threw an INT in the end zone on a desperation play in the final seconds of the game when they needed to score. Sure, it was an INT but he did lead his team downfield with 1 minute to play.

Romo likes to throw ill advised picks at the beginning of the drive on his side of the field when it wasn't even necessary to make the throw.

Shhh...the Romo lovers enjoy bashing Brady, it brings comfort whiile taking their collective minds off the psycholgical basketcase quartebacking the Dallas Cowboys.

Yawn, already been debunked as a BSPN stat. No context, and inaccurate as well.

Yeah, we know. It is inaccurate as heck because it shows Romo in a less than heroic light. Doesn't matter one bit that this is what he has done his entire life, high school, college and entire NFL career at the end of his seasons. We'll pretend that isn't a fact.

You should probably show some proof of that...

That show is less of a joke than watching the Owboys. And the stat is real.

Actually it's not. It's like writing a paper in the APA format and thinking your professor is going to be ok with one of your sources being from Wiki. First Take is really more for casual fans who really don't care to dial deep into x's and o's to find the real issues behind failures.

I Google it and I see the words "That's nearly twice as many since 2006 when Romo became the QB." But when I click the link I can't find it. Maybe someone else can. They recited the stat on First Take. I did find this article though. Romo has 7 late game INTs that dropped the team's win probability by more than 20 percent. And yesterday's first INT was the second most costly of his career. Only Schaub has more with 8.

It's kind of funny...there was a slight argument here about him throwing picks with the lead or tied vs. him throwing late picks when behind. The funny part? Romo did both yesterday.

this is where espn needs to dig deeper and when looking at these figures, look at the ratio of run to pass plays. the quality of the defense and the quality of the coaching. Yes, Tony has thrown some pretty dumb passes in his career but I doubt any QB ever has had to deal with as much of a losing philosophy as Tony has. This whole team stinks. From top to bottom. Tony isn't the real issue here. and the issues that Tony has can be corrected with stronger coaching and better constructed plays.

Romo is no Tom Brady, but I believe Tom has done it 2-3 times this year. Guess i would have to do more research then i would like to do at this point so who knows.

Really? So he has thrown 7 int's in 7 years and that makes him a choke artist? How many games has he won with a TD pass in those same years?

And over the same 7 years he's done it twice as much as anyone else. The "everyone else" who have 4 over that period? Try the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, Matt Schuab, and Chad Henne. And that's just the INTs when tied or with a 1 possession lead! That's not including 4th quarter interceptions when behind (2007 NY playoff game, @ WSH last year just off the top of my head). Or do those not matter because he was losing anyway? Handing the ball to the other team for them to win, or doing it to prevent yourself from coming back. Both are inexcusable and can't be ignored over the course of Romo's career. How many times will this type of thing have to happen for some of you to wake up? The crazy thing is....all he has to do is have some amazing games early next season to get you to forget the late game picks of this game and you'll be back to a position where if he does it again, you'll be able to brush it off as hogwash again. Come on. Don't you see a pattern at all here?

Please don't use the 07 Giants game to solidify your point. I believe that play was 4th down and Tony had to throw it. If he doesn't guys like you are saying he's a coward for not trying to win the game at the end.

I think the stat was "costly" INTs when it dropped the team's win probability by more than 20 percent. It's also when you're tied or have a small lead. Brady's INT yesterday doesn't count because the Patriots were losing and it was a very low win probability.

Remember that sunday night steelers game a few yeras ago where choice was the only runner to get 100 yards on the steelers. The cowboys were up late in the 4th quarter i think 10-3. They were backed up toward their own goal line with close to 2 minutes in the game and had a 3rd and long i think.

I was praying for a run and a punt. But Noooooo. Romo throws a pick that is returned for TD and game is 10-10 after their offense could not muster one score agianst our defense the entire game...and now the game is tied. Time runs out and into OT. Romo has the ball, under pressure and throws a pick again. Steelers kick FG and win.

he did it when we had a good defense just like he is doing with a soft defense. He did it when we had a weak offensive line and is doing it with a line that gives him solid protection on most of his throws. He did it when we couldnt run the ball and he is doing it when we run for 7yards per attempt. He did with Witten in his prime and TO and Roy Williams, he is doing it with Dez, Witten Miles And T Williams.

This is what he does.

Every time Brady has done it this year, he has been trying to come from behind. The stat here is that Romo is throwing 4th quarter picks WITH THE LEAD OR TIED.

Wow, Romo haters are like elephants, they remember everything. It's soooo impressive.

Quick! Without looking, how many game winning drives does Romo have this season? Don't look!

Are we haters or are we just tired of being led by a loser? But I'm glad you're so immune to mediocrity.
