…and the best team in Division loses two or their three best players…I think our team as currently constructed would be in the running to win the NFE West. That Division isn’t very good right now. So I don’t give the Rams that much credit.

All that being said I am not happy at all with how the Cowboys are managed. Their lack of a commitment to a consistent football philosophy will continue to only yield average teams - which is good for pocketbooks and appeases only the casual fans.
If you added this team to the NFC West, we'd be the 5th place team. The worst team in that division currently has owned us for years. The rams would run circles around us. We wouldn't beat Seattle, and we lose to the Cardinals every time we play them.

When you ALREADY have the type of money that your family will never have to worry about anything for literal generations and you’re this adamant about the smallest percentages of increased profit it just tells me all I need to know. Entire family full of clowns and nobody will miss any of them when they’re gone. Hope the money is worth it

Not what Stephen nor what the author of that tweet was saying.

The Rams were trading picks left and right to get that one SB
Yes they did, but they've already completed the tear down and been back to the playoffs multiple times since. The Rams arent afraid to pay top coaches and turn their roster over. The Cowboys enjoy the status quo and taking the path of least resistance...the Rams arent afraid to gamble to maximize their winning potential.

Ironic because the Rams actually "went all in" in 2021 and it paid off immediately with a Super Bowl win. Yet, they were able to stay competitive and not require a new HC or long rebuilding pattern.

Jerry Jones Pre-NFL Executive Resume
  • Co-captain of college football national championship team
  • Executive Vice-President of insurance company (appointed by father)
  • Oil wildcatter
Stephen Jones Pre-NFL Executive Resume
  • So-so player for father's alma mater
  • Chemical engineer for father's oil and gas exploration company
My friend @Bobhaze accurately labels both men as unaccountable and lazy. I would add those two-character traits are greatly influenced by the fact neither man have ever been qualified NFL executives. Not. One. Single. Day. Each man's entire NFL executive career, involving trial-and-error, would have, most likely, amounted to zero championship wins or appearances and (even worse than what happened in real life) lackluster playoff success.

The patriarch's only saving grace was hiring a supremely motivational leader and proven college-level championship winner. Both men's can contribute all their success and false sense of NFL accomplishment in the part Jimmy Johnson played early in their decades long Pinky and the Brain escapades.

I don’t recommend anyone doing what the Rams did. They are a special situation. They win games because of their head coach not talent.
well, I disagree. they were in superbowl. lost a close game. made a change at QB and made mid season moves and won the superbowl.

there are other teams having done similar. you don't stand pat, you make changes to get better. eagles fired their GM and moved quickly to address a situation.

Lions made a lot of moves and are in position to make a run this post season.

both of them started with great head coaches that were aligned with GM. situation that will never happen in Dallas.

Tuck..... :muttley: .......telling us what the obvious?
Comparing the Ram's F/O, Coach, and QB, is like comparing a Buggati to a Fiat.
If you all remember first thing the Rams did was get themselves an SB-caliber QB.
FIRST AND FOREMOST................the rest fell into place with proper roster moves on the Fa and Draft fronts.
