Two players I hope to see be the next ones cut.

We just can't afford to lose games to guys who are going to get us killed. Cundiff can kill a playoff chance with a missed field goal or bad field position from kickoffs. And Morgan can kill a playoff chance with a dropped pass, so if these guys can't step it up, then let them walk. I will wait until we have more pre-season games though.

If there are two that need to be gone its Al Singleton and Lynn Scott, they are the posterchildren for mediocrity.

These guys need to be replaced with better talent before being released. We haven't seen Morgan play an entire season. He played most of last season injured and they have made the effort to improve his game. Why release him now? Can't we see him in a few preaseason games to see if he has improved? Why release him, just move him to the 4th or 5th spot for depth? He also has a lot more experienced than the other guys. Releasing Morgan makes zero sense.

Cut our only decent place kicker? Did you watch any of the games in the 10-6 season? Did you watch the Giants game? The guy has his shoes in the hall of fame. Before cutting him, let's find a better replacement. Let's get real ok?

These same guys could win games for us as well you know.

Now someone is thinking.

I realize that some people are sheep. A few people hate on Singleton and especially Scott and the brain dead masses soon follow. People act like Jr. High in their attempts to be cool.

Singleton's a quality NFL LB. He has a Super Bowl ring to prove it.

Scott is a terrific backup safety/special teamer, high character overachiever. I'll never understand the hate he gets on this board (or even the old version of this one). Actually I do understand it. A few people "picked on" him in jest and those with the IQ of a decent day at Ice Station Zebra followed. It's not his fault the Cowboys' management failed to anticipate/diagnose Woodsen's medical woes last off-season and failed to bring in a quality FS this off-season.

I'm probably the only one who feels this way but I hate cutting players. I'm a pack rat when it comes to players. I want to keep them all and add more. I liked the days before the 80 man limit when the Cowboys brought in dozens and dozens of free agents for camp. We always had over 100 for camp and we always seem to find a Drew Pearson, Cliff Harris, Michael Downs or Everson Walls. Cutting down the roster is a necessary evil but I don't like it one bit.

Quincy Morgan is the posterchild for scorn for the absolutely clueless.

Coach Parcells has mentioned time and time again that he is doing well.

Yet, some fan feels equipped to debate that.

Must be separation anxiety from Antonio Bryant.

Two more players who get too much grief from the clueless.

Agreed. People forget that Al Singleton was a guy that BP brought in. Along with Dan Campbell and Richie Anderson. Common theme: high character vet leaders who knew a thing or two about winning.

Part of building a winning team is instilling a winning attitude. See Marco Rivera this year.

I agree with you here too. I personally think Morgan could be one of the surprises of this year's team.

I can't believe that the guy made it to this level and didn't know how to hold his hands when catching a ball. That story blew my mind. Talk about some terrible coaching along the way.

A guy switching teams/offenses midseason and playing injured probably won't make a major impact.

However, watch the Julius Jones hotstepper video and concentrate on Morgan. He had a small part in helping Julius have that terrific second half. He is a solid run blocker. Think that might be important in a ball control offense favored by Parcells?

No, it is more like keeping around talented losers who had bad attitudes.

Like Quincy Carter.

Like Antonio Bryant.

Like Derek Ross.

Like Troy Hambrick.

And on and on.

Don't you know that is how teams win Super Bowls? Just accumulate "talent" without regard to intangibles, just like Madden?

It is that simple.

I agree on the loser part, but I am still searching for talent in that group you listed. :D

I've probably said this before, but Morgan is a better fit for THIS team than Bryant every day of the week. Morgan is the ideal third/fourth receiver for this team. He brings a skillset that the two starters don't, that being a speedy deep threat. Plus unlike Bryant, he seems comfortable in his role.

Even if Bryant goes for 1100 yards this year and Morgan only gets 300, I still think that Morgan will help Dallas win more games than Bryant would have. Afterall, this isn't fantasy football, and scoreboard not stats determine the playoffs.

I admit, I took creative liberty with the "talent" part.

Good luck selling that scenario.

There are still a lot of fans who are still pining away for the little punk.

Cundiff scares me a little but I give Parcells credit for cutting-bait on Visintainer and bringing in another challenger. The team has acknowledged some concern.

I expect Crayton to win the #3 outright and continue to improve. If we're banking on Morgan's contribution at any time this year, it means Key/Glenn are injured. In that case, the second-guessing will be based on the age/durability of our starting receivers.

We unloaded a cancer in Bryant and took a former first rounder with some upside. Can't be surprised if he doesn't develop.

I think most of teh Scott hate came about because of the hate for Dixon when he was here. When fans would talk about the FS position outside of Williams and Woodson, those two guys would be grouped together, and therefore hated together.

I'm wrong. Morgan went early second. I'll still think we did well to get anything for Bryant until he produces for a full season and does so without being devisive.
