Man, come on, I've heard that stereotype more times than I can count. People think talent only comes out of the big-name schools. Just look at the Jeanty thread in the draft zone. There are posts in there that "Boise State doesn't play anybody". You’re moving the goalposts on me. I didn’t say anything about only drafting from small schools. I’m just saying that most people continuously dismiss players from smaller programs. Talent can show up anywhere, and consistency and talent aren’t limited to the big-name schools. No one says that.
What you've misinterpreted is that you can't continuously draft players from smaller schools, as there is a reason they went to a smaller school. A high percentage of players from smaller schools bust, so you absolutely must look at each player individually and determine his chance of success, as well as doing a deep dive into his inefficiencies to analyze whether his traits will transfer to the NFL level.
Joe Thomas got in the HOF with a team and FO just as putrid as Dallas.I really hope this is the last Hall of Famer we waste because he's definitely going to be one on this trajectory.
BREAKING NEWS: he'll get paid and will be a dud
+1....I’m just saying that most people continuously dismiss players from smaller programs. Talent can show up anywhere, and consistency and talent aren’t limited to the big-name schools.
you're a dud and a spud!!
He is starting to understand how good/dominant he can be. He's just scratching the surface......Tyler is a dog and shaping into one of the best offensive linemen in football.
I think him and Beebee will be top shelf long term foundational pieces. He is starting to understand how good/dominant he can be. He's just scratching the surface......
I remember his rookie season thinking that Tyler Smith had incredible agility for a lineman. That is wasted at G. I would have played him at LT. That gets the most value out of our best olineman. No, he can't. Tyler is more like BIGG, and all pro OG, but just an OK OT. Putting him at OT would waste his talent playing him out of position.
