Why?I put the blame squarely on Philbin.
Dude, it’s not just Smith that’s making these penalties and he wasn’t even on the team last year where they lead the league in penalties most coming from the offensive line. Why?
Smith was a penalty machine in College. The fact the brass thought he would come to the most penalized team in football and miraculously cut out the penalties is a bad assumption on their part.
Smith could potentially be all world. But it wont matter if he opens a hole for a 50 yard TD run if its called back because he held his block too long.
I never said it was just Smith. I am saying this coaching staff had a year to get rid of this nonsense and their plan to address the penalties was to draft the most penalized player in college lol. That's all I am saying.Dude, it’s not just Smith that’s making these penalties and he wasn’t even on the team last year where they lead the league in penalties most coming from the offensive line.
You mentioned ONLY Smith. So what is one to think? Jeez.I never said it was just Smith. I am saying this coaching staff had a year to get rid of this nonsense and their plan to address the penalties was to draft the most penalized player in college lol. That's all I am saying.
He's not new to football … but yes, he needs some work and polish, and he has a learning curve with changing positions.People forget that he's super raw and new to football. He's gonna improve tremendously once he learns the game mentally to go with his physicality.
I don't remember LA dominating people his rookie year. Those comparing him to LA are frankly full of it.
I have never seen anyone dominate like LA did.
Smith has a lot of power and wants to hit which is very important; but tap the brakes BIG TIME comparing him to LA.
Connor Williams would be so proudOn pace for 34 penalties for the year nice
Preseason doesn't count, so he's not on pace for anything.Connor Williams would be so proud
Lol u saltyPreseason doesn't count, so he's not on pace for anything.
read the posts again; they were comparing him to LA at his best. Which of course is moronic.I don't remember LA dominating people his rookie year.
It's been a long time however...
I think my point remains, LA wasn't destroying people the way Tyler is in his rookie season. He developed that more as he went. He was very very good his rookie year but i don't remember him destroying people the way he did in his subsequent years.read the posts again; they were comparing him to LA at his best. Which of course is moronic.

OkYah, that was their plan? LOL
Sometimes you get a little too cry baby.
Diggs gave up a lot of yards...yada yada...he has 11 INTs.Why?
