Back issues don't seem to go away....if someone finds a way to make them please let me know.

Mine has hurt for years:(

Well I hurt mine so bad I couldn't stand up straight, and could only stand for 30 seconds at a time.

Got some injections in my back, its fine now (knock on wood)....but I did have to learn how to do things to help prevent it from happening again.

I figure Tyron will be fine with some rest and the staff working on him, I just wonder what it actually is with his back, haven't heard that yet myself.

Ah man... hate to hear that. I wish you good health for the rest of your days. For whatever that's worth.

It is what it is at this point. They'll have to manage this all season long. Pretty good bet surgery will ensue after the season.

I guess you haven't heard that he is hurt again.

Last thing I heard is that he is not practicing, maybe he's back but you can't count on that guy.

Ya mine isn't surgery level. I was really smart laying mulch three years ago and only used my back and totally avoided any weight on my legs.

Smith will be the next surprise retirement if they don't get that back right next offseason. He's extremely young; not looking like he'll have a full career at this rate.

Tony Romo had to have shots before every game and if he was ever forced to waiver from his routine...we would see a Thanksgiving flop.

Maybe this is a serious issue...maybe it's not. I am certain the team is being very careful regardless of how serious it is. It is a smart idea to limit any contact for Smith if he is feeling any tightness---he doesn't need the reps and it's probably a good thing for the team to give those reps to another tackle on the team considering our lack of depth there.
Again, Tyron is 26, in the prime of his career, and already dealing with back problems. Romo was 35-36 when he dealt with his.

Youre saying he doesnt need the reps, but what if this issue extends in to the regular season, like last year? This is very concerning. Last year we were fortunate because Chaz Green played really well in his place, but even he is hurt.

He played at an All Pro level, so not too worried about it.

I am saying that I will wait to panic until I see it follow him into the season. You give him the time off for the slightest tweak to avoid that. As I said before, it will be beneficial to see what the backups have playing with the 1s. I won't label him as having a bad back till then. I won't put him in the same class as a guy that can't play a game without a pain killer either simply because of one season and missing some time in training camp.

Maybe he's sick of training camp. It has to get old for an all pro 100 million dollar linemen putting his body on the line everyday for practice.

It's worrisome but ill expect the usual comments of "oh the Cowboys no more than you do" etc only to find out its 4 times worse than they initially indicated like all Cowboys injuries.

The big deal is that he's resting because his back is bothering him.

This isn't just rest for rest sake. He's resting because he had back tightness.

This ain't rocket science here.

He had tightness all of last year and missed many practices? It is the pre-season with meaningless games for a player of his stature. I am sure if it was the season already he would be out there slugging it out.

Keep up with your exercises! Keep that core strong! Do some light deadlifts if you possibly can. They've done wonders for me.
