I caught that USC vs Stanford game, too. ESPN doesn't show the whole game due to time restraints, but they showed a bunch of it.
USC's defense was poor, and their kickoff coverage beat them.
USC ran the football, and Smith was physical in the running game and stuck to his blocks really well and finished his blocks. He turns and seals off his man with a physical nature. He is very fast in space and hustles. He looked really good in pass protection. From what they showed, it was a real clean game for him. Very impressive.
Smith at 285 shows superior technique and power when compared to Solder or Castonzo or Sherrod. The combination of his size, athletic ability, balance, and length is going to make him a very safe pick. This guy has a real chance to be a special player. He's one of the best players in this draft and worthy of the 9th pick, straight up. Smith is a cornerstone player in the offensive line, and Dallas would be stupid to pass on him for an inferior player and an extra inferior player.
