Free looks like an NFL lineman. Smith looks like a TE or DE.

Free issues has always been when he gets sloppy with his footwork he runs into trouble when using proper techinque and footwork he gets the job done. As for Parnell he has been here 5 years and has yet to prove he is better or should be starting. He gets another chance in camp

Parnell has been with the Cowboys about 3 1/2 years.

Dallas Cowboys[edit]
The Dallas Cowboys' signed him to their active roster on October 14, 2010 with the intention of converting him to a full-time offensive tackle. [3]

In 2011 he participated in his first six career games, playing in special teams and as a backup offensive tackle.

On April 26 2012, he was re-signed to a three-year contract. That same season after Tyron Smith suffered a high ankle sprain against the Cleveland Browns, he replaced him as the team starting left tackle and also in the next game against the Washington Commanders. When Smith returned, he was worked into a regular rotation with starting right tackle Doug Free.

He is entering his 5th year in the NFL and your right in Dallas 3.5 years and again it is up to him to win the spot and he has yet to do that. It is not like Dallas has not given him the chance to win the position. I'm not rooting aginst the guy I want the best players out there we can get if that is Parnell great heck if it is Weems I'm good with that but simple fact is Parnell has yet to prove he is better than Free. If he was he would be out there playing

you mean the same bunch that thought Costa was a starting NFL center? Or that scrubs like Nagy and company were going to be solid starters?

They were absolutely wrong but I'm going to take the advice and word of people who are being paid to do this job, at the highest level, and have been for years over some arm chair GM/Coach/Scout who has WAY to much time on their hands that they're watching game film for free just to try and pretend they understand more than the average fan.

I have s feeling that you are used to seeing shirtless men. I am not..

Oh maybe he just doesn't get weird about something completely stupid.

Have you never played any sports? No basketball or football ever? Cause if you have I find it extremely hard to believe you'd not seen a lot of people playing without their shirts on...unless you're playing with a bunch of really fat guys who are insecure about themselves.

Anybody with football knowledge would have bought into Costa, Nagy , Killer and Arkin as being as being the building blocks of a talented oline.

I played for many years at several levels on the oline and followed at up with coaching the oline for several years. During that time , I found to use in of having a man-crush on a player's upper body. Hey that's just me. I don't watch body-building on TV either . Not there's anything wrong with it lol .have you played and coached to that extent?

I'm not anti any Cowboy player I pull for every guy out there to become the best player they can be and if in doing so they take over a position as a starter then great. I try to stay away from the so called "Pet cat" as far as I'm concerned if you are on the 53 man roster you are my pet cats. If Parnell can come in and beat out Free great hell if someone can come in and beat out Tyron Smith great because that guy is one hell of a stud to do that and I want that guy out on the field playing. Simple truth is I have not seen anything in Parnell play up to this point that would indicate he is better but if he can go out and win the job then good going.

Ain't that the truth. I'd love for Parnell and Weems to both be better than Smith because we'd obviously have a fantastic pair of tackles. I'm all for the younger guys beating out the older ones (in the case of Free) and making the line younger and better. I hope both Weems and Parnell are given every chance to do it, and it happens simply because it's in the best interest of the team.

However, I don't think we can count on that happening. There are reasons Free started over Parnell last year and held on to the job even after Parnell was healthy. Can Parnell make the next step and prove he should start over Free? I don't think we know.

That is why we have camp it is a chance for guys to earn their spots. In the end you got to beat the guy out of the position, Parnell does not deserve it because of age he either steps up and takes it or he ends up fighting for a backup spot.

Looking at the picture from behind Doug Free looks like bigger the Smith. I didn't think it was Free at first glance. I know Smith is a big guy but to say looks weak in that picture is crazy inmho
