I see people say this but in my experience, more income does not make people want it any less. Quite the opposite really. When you’ve made over $111 million it’s easier to do lol

Get me a contract that averages 30-35m for him and I’ll stop complaining lolNow Dak needs to follow Tyron's lead and give some money back!
I agree, and this is the color of irony that fills virtually everything: no matter what Lawrence (or ANY Dallas Cowboy) ever accomplishes, says or does, there’ll always be loud and widespread criticism. It SELLS!
2 Time 1st Team All ProYes Gonzalez got inducted but you do realize that we're talking about two different types of players and offensive lineman with no stats there's not a lot you can bolster credibility with outside of reputation...
Tony Gonzalez obviously is one of the best tight ends to ever play because you can see his numbers but with an offensive lineman much tougher they almost have not a lot to go on stat wise but you get a reputation that's about it..
I mean sacks/pressures given up and all that kind of stuff might be looked at.
I mean look at lane Johnson stat line like when's the last time he even gave up a sack his reputation says he is the top lineman of his generation because they can't even find games where he gives up a sack or much pressure can neutralize this guys like Micah Parsons and while Tyrone Smith did that at one time he's been playing a long time you added injuries and he doesn't have a lot of stats to hang his head on at this point...
Agreed.Get me a contract that averages 30-35m for him and I’ll stop complaining lol

My thoughts:
Tyron Smith apparently took his salary from $13 mil to $6 mil as a concession due to his injuries the last few seasons. Say what you will, but that man has given everything for the Cowboys. He's been one of the best tackles of all time, and he's done another thing to sacrifice for the team. I truly hope that, when he retires, he not only gets in the HOF as a first ballot but also gets into the ROH. He belongs there.
Tyron Smith is not making a sacrifice. He's simply overruling his ego in favor of financial common sense. Had he chosen otherwise, he would noit be a Dallas Cowboy today.
No other team in the NFL is going to pay him 6 mil, much less, 13 mil.
Still, he absolutely deserves credit for making this decision, it's a tough one for a proud warrior.
I agree with his loyalty. But this is a professional football business. All the injury years with Tyron Smith made Jerry Dumbo GM Jones not focus on drafting LT until Tyler Smith and he has him at OG wasting another year of developing a LT. Arlington Jonesboys still need a LT or LG (if moving Tyler Smith permanently to LT). This is where Jerry Jones "boy crush" really hurts player personnel development.https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news...-training-camp-overvalued-tyler-smith-preview

Now Dak needs to follow Tyron's lead and give some money back!
It does seem true, that the richer a man is, the greedier he is, in most cases. Which is the cause, and which is the effect is hard today for sure.I see people say this but in my experience, more income does not make people want it any less. Quite the opposite really.
And some scumbag family members of his apparentlyMinus what the government took.
buy converting guaranteed money into incentive money? lol alrightHe's betting on himself. shrugs....
Money is money and for the man to give up millions for the team speaks volumes about his character and commitment to this team. He should be able to play as long as he wants period.
To add to this he also has 7x NFL top 100 which is also extremely impressive2 Time 1st Team All Pro
2 Time 2nd Team All Pro
8 Time Pro Bowler
2010 ALL DECADE TEAM
For O linemen THOSE are the STATS that matter.\
Any intelligent FAN knows this

Very much agreed. If he wins a super bowl it can always be revised. Until then that is plenty of money.$30 - $35 mil/year sounds very reasonable for both Dak and the Cowboys.
Although I do agree that it is nice to see a player "lower" his contract to stay with his team, Smith has a chance to earn back all he conceded as incentives. So it isn't like he said he would take $6 million instead of $13 million. He just said he would take $6 million and earn the other $7 million.https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news...-training-camp-overvalued-tyler-smith-preview
