Right, they already have two 1T's on the team so no need for those. No worries yet.
They have 2 halves of a 1 Tech. Get rid of Thornton, give Hankins a 1 year deal. He'll outplay it and cash in next offseason. Draft a prospect to groom behind him. Let Hankins cash in and get a 3rd round comp of he signs for 10mil+

Ya, wont happen. But a man can dream!

It just keeps getting better and better.

Dak is gonna have to carry the hell out of this team next season. A lofty order for a sophomore QB.

and it is too late even to try to sign a top FA or so even if they decide to use the 30m of cap flexibility in 2017 that they have (or more)

I was looking through FAs yesterday and I think there are still a couple of interesting young safeties available. Dont know much about them but have read some positives on them both. One from Tampa and LA. Im hoping we can bring in someone like that, still young and maybe hasn't reached their ceiling yet. Where is our Thorton type signing this offseason ya know? I am expecting (hoping) we get at least one of the middle tier type FAs.

Usually you see teams that are close adding the final pieces of the team to get them over the hump like with the Broncos and all the defensive help they signed, the Seahawks with Cliff Avril, the Falcons with Mack and Sanu. But it seems that we just bungle the cap and can never really improve upon the previous season.

The Crawford contract is an example of our ineptness when it comes to managing the cap. Refusing to go out and get a solid player in free agency in lieu of handing out a huge contract to an oft injured, average player.

They signed Thornton to a 3yr deal and he came on to play pretty good ball down the stretch. Hankins in not really a Marinelli kind of lineman anyway. They will pass because he's looking to break the bank and Cowboys only want KMart discount players.

This is just according to the Cowboy script. They blew their chance in the playoffs this past season so it's back to the
outhouse for a season so they can draft in the top 5 again next year. That's how it's done now...just keep on drafting
young players and hope one season you make it to the big dance.

Well, glad he had it recently and not 2 weeks before mini-camp.

I had a left labrum tear. It took me 5 months to get back to 80% bench and 6.5-7 to get to 100%
Took my buddy about a year to reach his previous single rep max in bench and shoulder press.
He did get depressed though and avoid the gym for a while there.
You must have worked your tail off to get back.

But he's OUR oft injured, average player.

I also find it fascinating that Stephen talks a lot about not overpaying for FA but has no problem overpaying for jags already on the team.
