Fish rots from the head down, we have a weak owner, which leads to a weak coach, which leads to a weak team.

please stop posting.
seriously, this is nonsense.

the weak owner made millions then risked it all to buy the cowboys, basically turned them into a trillion dollar business.

so weak....

the coach was an ivy league grad who played a decade in the NFL and won a few rings before quickly ascending the coaching ranks.
is he my favorite coach? no. but he isn't weak just boring.

They needed to win a game without Romo after what they went through last year.
Not that they didn't have confidence in Dak--they certainly do--but they did need to pull one of these close ones out.

When you're a DT and you get a sack after getting double teamed all day I'm not upset. This D Line is going to be real bad until Lawrence comes back and then it will be merely the weakest unit on the team.

And the fan tide has now turned on Tyrone Crawford. It wasn't long ago that he was a special player.

It's a Boise State thing. People love to bag on BSU...Go figure considering most of this forum is in corrupt SEC country.

I find his comments disturbing for the very reason you highlighted.
Which team did we beat last year to stop a losing skid? That's right, the Washington Commanders, our perennial punching bags.

The real test is going to be next week because we play at home and an opponent not in our division and not named the Washington Commanders. What if we lose to the Bears?

I'm kind of disturbed that this team was on the brink of a breakdown if it had lost. What's going to happen if we lose next week? Is the team going to pack it in thinking we can't beat any team but the Commanders?

And what does he mean by relax? I'm concerned by his comments about the team's psyche.

Yeah.. I think Cowboyszone quietly understands that this is just what we do to the Commanders.. Even when we suck this is what we do the majority of the time.

Plus that team got overhyped all offseason because they took advantage of a weak NFC East last year. Washington is a terrible football team and they are winning 6 games max this year and i'd take the under.

No problem with this.

Chalk it up to misspeak or somewhat out of context.
It's good to get that first win of the season to build confidence.
Especially with the situation they are in. Rookie QB and RB, no pass rushers to speak of, including himself.
Maybe finally making a meaningful play will light a fire in him. Terrible contract though.

It's less than ideal, but beat two crappy teams in Chi and SF and sit at 3-1 and get DLaw and potentially Gregory back.

Your winning personality has people disliking Boise State...you have nobody to blame but yourself. But you got that going for you, which is nice. - Love, Carl Spackler

As far as what he said...this defense sucks and they have to try and hold out hope for Gregory and D.Law to get back and stack clean to help generate a little pass rush and that does not even count on the problems in the LB corp with the other knuckle head out and likely not coming back while Sean Lee has to be looking around and thinking...seriously.

What he said is one of those things where yeah it makes sense, but it's something you shouldn't say. Especially to the media. It definitely would've been demoralizing to start 0-2, let's not kid ourselves. But I don't want my players thinking the sky would've fell 2 weeks into the season.

I expected him to be playing much better, especially with McClain balling next to him.

I think he may get a lot more looks at LDE after this game.

It's not just this season though.. Coaches can say that last season is the past but that is just coach speak..

Players will be more real about things and 1-12 the past 2 seasons without Romo is something that players won't look at as coincidence.

Romo brings a belief and confidence to this team that they naturally lack from all of the mental beat downs we have taken over the years.

I agree with Crawford . I would have felt the same way. I respect him for being honest . Now give back half of your contract !

I agree with him. That was a huge game to win. They start 0-2 and the wheels start coming off.

Why would this lose torn them apart? Still haven't let last year go? That's very alarming. Kind of relax? Bro, Romo ain't back and Romo can't save u when he is.... you need to be looking within for a savior.

If this is a true example of where the team is mentally.... they're as soft as baby poo

The team lost a gazillion close games a year ago and maybe just Mayberry is saying they would have turned on the head coach for calling an onside kick which turned into three points for the opposition and perhaps the difference between winning and losing.
If anything this tells me the team isn't completely behind Garrett.

I don't have any problems with what he said.

It's hammered into everyone that if you start the season 0-2, you're season is pretty much cooked.

There was a lot of pressure on these guys to win this one.
They knew it was huge and accepted the challenge and got a W.
Zero issue with them saying after the fact, it would have been terrible to lose.

I'd have been far more disturbed had they said it's a long season and one game won't define us.
It took playing above their heads, like their hair was on fire to win that game.
They did.
They rose to the occasion.

We had two fumbles and still won a game with our back up QB on the road.
That's pretty big.
And no one wants to be 0-fer.
