Tyson Thompson Can Easily Be Replaced In The Draft

Agreed. Who needs a third running back anyway? If Jones or Barber gets hurt, when can just plug in Newman as our change of pace back.

I don't think anyone would be for us not having a third back. Just that it would not be a bad idea to add competition for that third back and take a shot at possibly finding Jones' eventual replacement in the process.

I'm all for keeping TT. From the AFC NFC stats that are published in my local newspaper he was the leading kick returner for the NFC for a period of time, even after he was injured I saw him on tops of the list for a week or so. No need to dump him, especially since I am guessing he is making league minimum. Anyone know what his salary is?

u mean his 3 fumbles? before his 1 good return? i dont think dallas has a dependable kr/pr just yet.

austin had 29 returns with a 26 yards a return average and 1 td.

Thompson had 21 returns for 26 yard a return average and no tds in two years.

those are great return numbers 26 yards a return is outstanding.

saying austin wasnt as good is wrong.

lol i agree with that 100%, but if dallas has a chance to get somethig better in the draft, my money is on miles being released, rather then thompson

um, You need to play closer attention. Austin was purposely held out of the last three pre season games for the most part because Dallas thought so highly of him and they wanted to be able to sneek him to the practice squad, which they were never able to do.

Hurd played over austin because he knew all three wr positions.

Austin is the more talented player.

Jerry jones said in september last year on special edition the week before the season that the organization thinks extremely highly of austin and thinks he will be a major contributor in the future.

So there is a zero percent chance he is going anywhere.

All right, guys, we've got to get going on this thread ... we're falling way behind the other one.

Quick, someone say something stoopid. :)

I'm not disputing that. I know any number of RB's can be a third option at RB. My argument is that Thompson's position is not useless. I am arguing against the post that said Thompson is useless because Austin is a better returner. If Jones or Barber get's hurt, whoever we have as our third RB option becomes a very important role in our offense.

and? He was a rookie. That happens sometimes. I can remember michael irvin fumbling a bunch of times.

It happens. With his size and speed, he could replace crayton in the slot at the end of this year and be the kick returner.
