When the pressure is at the highest he chokes. Always has and always will.
that ALONE makes him over rated.

Maybe in big games he chokes, but not big moments. 4th and 26 ring a bell?

If you can't recognize how good McNabb is, I officially invite you to join my fantasy football league next year.

I guess my biggest complaint of McNabb (if i were an eagles fan) is his inconsistency. He can pull off a miracle play and then miss a 5-10 yard pass, throws a lot of balls right into the ground about 3-5 feet in front of a player.

He gets rattled and loses his accuracy for 5-6 passes in a row, then scrambles in the pocket and launches a great throw to a wide open receiver for a 40 yard TD.

I have always sort of thought that McNabb was overrated. He is inaccurate, as many have noticed, and he is constantly overblown by the media. When the going is good he is all smiles and goofing off, and that is probably why they lost the Giants game this year. He might have been moonwalking on the sideline instead of studying pictures of the game, and talking to the OC. Oh By the way, he referred to us on NFL network as "that other team". I think we should introduce ourself.....

To say that McNabb is overrated because he chokes in the big games reminds me of when people used to say the same thing about John Elway, completely overlooking the fact that both of their teams really had no business being in the big games in the first place, and wouldn't be without their quarterbacks carrying the entire team on their back.

Wrong. Hate him for being an Eagle, but he's one of the most dangerous weapons in the NFL.

Only a jealous hater would call him over-rated.

McNabb is above average. But he's far from elite.

I wouldn't rate him as being in the top 10 QB's in the league.

The guy is inaccurate.

He plays in the WCO and can't even muster a 60% completion percentage.

And he has a history of choking in critical games.

Personally, I wouldn't want McNabb on our team.

Maybe we would have made it to a critical game in the past 7 years if we had McNabb. So you would have rather had QC,Vinny, Hutch and the other starters we have had huh?

Name me another QB you rather have out of NFC??????

I don't like the Eagles but you gotta be an idiot if you didn't want him on your team.

His top two receivers were injured during yesterday´s game, his top rb didn´t play and his backup fumbled twice inside the 10 yard line and Mcnabb still threw for 2 tds and ran for 2 more.

He´s had some incredible games agaisnt us, I don´t think Bill thinks he´s overrated.

It is funny that he has a tendency to hit his receivers right between the shoe laces when he tosses short passes down the middle. Dallas would be smart to take away the outside receivers and force McNabb to pass down the middle.

Ridiculous. Really, if he was a Cowboy would you still feel that way?

He can make all the throws, has decent escapability, and the Eagles' organization are a bunch of penny pinchers. It's amazing to me that people think he's overrated, I never heard it 'til Jabba the Limbaugh said it. Now people say it over and over like parrots.

I agree in a way. I am not sure if he is overrated, or if it's the league and the media over-promoting him. Mostly because of what Rush said. And that makes people who do not like the Eagles, think he is overrated. And I at sometimes think or thought at one time, also. Or could be because he chokes somewhat in the bigger games, along with the rest of the team.

However, I have to admit, he is a very good QB. And if we had the chance to have him, before Bledsoe was signed. I would not have been opposed to it at all.

The media has propped him up, and the Eagles have made him the face of the franchise.

He has a tendency to crack under pressure because all of the pressure is on his shoulders. He can't handle it, and big games have proven this flaw.

My feeling is that he has a few good years left, and his window is closing. Though it has not slammed shut yet.

Ahh yes..the semi-regular season Mcnabb is overrated thread...

Donovan Mcnabb is a pretty good quarterback and most teams in the NFL would love to have him, including the Dallas Cowboys.

The only problem I have with Mcnabb is that he is very inconsistent throwing the ball. One minute, the ball is thrown beautifully and the next he is throwing at the ground. Like Peyton Manning, he has failed to capitalize on his team's success and get them an NFL Title.

Other than that, Mcnabb is a top 5 Quarterback in the league for sure.

Also, for the person who said people were afraid to criticize Mcnabb because of the Rush Limbaugh comments, you might want to tell that to Terrell Owens, Stephen A. Smith (who disgustingly took Owens' side), and a member of the Philly Chapter of the NAACP, who last year said Mcnabb was a "UNCLE TOM SELLOUT" for trying to become more of a pocket passer.

Yeah...people are afraid to talk about him alright  .

don't know how many of you get espn the magazine, but there was an interesting blurb in there this week that made me chuckle.

Stewart Scott was asked who he thought the best QB in the league was. in his ramblings he said that McNabb was the best leader of all the qb's in the league! Funny that he's the best leader, but his coaches told TO to support him because he had a fragile psyche! Funny because he was totally gassed in the Superbowl and cost his team the championship. Funny because he is the least clutch qb going.

Are those leadership qualities?

Why do we have to give it to McNabb?
  1. He has never won anything.
  2. He was given a weapon(T.O.) that instead of utilizing it, he feared it... in many ways...
  3. He does those stupid Michael Jackson dance's.
  4. He is a phony
  5. He plays around during the game and costs his team
  6. He gets tired in the superbowl
  7. He throws multiple INT's in the superbowl
  8. You talk about TO being only for TO... McNabb does a fine job of this himself
  9. All he does is throw little dump screen passes
  10. He lost his Chunky endorsement
:lmao2:

If he was a true leader he would have made the TO thing work out. Instead he gets......er,..... Jeff Garcia to room with him

I don't think he's a great QB, but he is a very good QB. More of a Randall Cunningham than a Steve Young or Elway.

The McNabb bash fests that pop up on this board from time to time are HILARIOUS. "Innacurate", "Lost without the WCO", "Overrated" blah blah FREAKING BLAH. Most of you wouldnt know football if it smashed you in the face like Albert Haynesworth's shoe. Go look at the numbers. Donny McNabb is crazy good. I'd kill to have a QB like that on the 'boys. And so would you. The dude throws up on the field when sick in between touchdown passes. That's what I want. A QB that has to be nearly dead before being taken off the field of play. Not to mention he's pretty handy with the feet.

Wow, are you drunk?

I'm sure you don't have any homers on your Philly board either.

Why don't you go there and count them?
