I doubt Amendola makes it on the team. He's small. Average speed. He is quick and has decent hands, but he's not that athletic. System helped him in college. I'm not sure if he can make the PS or not. He never really impressed me that much at Tech.

Amendola and Dixon........very nice so far....I am very pleased with our draft, our UDFA so far, and next year's draft (possibly 10 picks from rounds 3-7).

Dixon? Did I miss something?

You obviously did not keep up with him during his all-star game when he was routinely abusing DB's. I would guess they were not running Leach's Fun-n-Gun out there. :)

Not only that, but average speed? The videos do not lie in this circumstance.

Amendola may or may not make the team. But these criticisms are not correct.

Videos also say Malcolm Kelly is fast yet everyone still calls him slow. I don't care what a video says. This is based on seeing him a bunch over the last few years. I gave an honest evaluation on the guy. I could be wrong.

Danny Amendola

Position:
WR
Class:
Sr
School:
Texas Tech
Conference:
Big 12
Ht., Wt.:
5-10.5, 183
40 Time:
4.69

BIOGRAPHY: Three-year starter who posted career-high receiving numbers of 103/1177/5 as a senior when he also averaged 16.7 yards on 13 punt returns. Junior-year totals included 48/487/5.

POSITIVES: Reliable slot receiver who plays with terrific quickness. Fluid releasing off the line, quick to top speed, and shows sharpness running routes. Gets separation from opponents. Possesses top football instincts, extends his hands, and makes the tough reception in a crowd. Uses his frame to protect the pass, displays good eye/hand coordination, and a fearless receiver who lays out for the tough catch. Works hard running after the reception and impacts the game returning punts.

NEGATIVES: Undersized and loses out to large defenders. More quick than fast and lacks the second gear.

ANALYSIS: Amendola is a consistent pass-catcher with potential as a slot receiver and a punt returner at the next level.

PROJECTION: Middle Fifth Round

i see a lot of TT games here in SA....even though I dont like them.....but this guy is slow, short, unathletic.....but all he does is get wide open, catch passes, and get YAC.....

Hmm..he's slow? He certainly doesn't look like it from the videos. Even if he's got no top end speed, if he's playing in the slot, he looks like he easily has the quickness you want there.

I'd say he's more quick than fast, but that's really quick, more than enough to be able to seperate

Being a Nebraska fan, I have watched quite a bit of the B12 myself. :)

But you do not care what a video shows? So I guess solid evidence that proves otherwise in your evaluation is not good enough.

I guess I'll just note it as you are not fond of Tech, regardless of player.

my point is, hes not a burner...yet he always gets separation.....he finds ways to get open....he finds holes in the defense.

Videos show highlights of players. Doesn't really mean they are great players. Amondola is probably an average Tech WR. In fact I can name about 10 of them better in the last 5 years most likely.

But I'm sure you can have highlights of John Blake's OU teams in the 90s and make them look unbeatable. Or you can have highlights of your Huskers last year and make them look like USC. Highlight vids are meant to make players look good.

The Vikes are certainly dishing out the cash to get some of the top level UDFA's out there.

Would not have minded bringing in Leman or Radovich and I'm surprised Marcus Walker was not brought in. He was someone the Cowboys were really interested in.

You are talking something totally different in regards to a highlight video. A highlight video would not show you a poor route, dropped pass, half-assed player, etc., but the speed and quickness will always be there regardless.

But as I said, I am a B12 fan so I have watched Amendola on more than one occasion. Not only that, but this opinion is not only shared by me in regards to how quick and fast Amendola is. Other places like NFLDraftScout among other resources have noted that it is among Amendola's strengths.

My thought -- you look at his 40 time (as do most, so it isn't bad) and let that ultimately decide for you rather than truly watching the player. If you watch the video, watch the games and read what others have watched, you would easily see that Amendola is alot different than what you see.
