my point is, hes not a burner...yet he always gets separation.....he finds ways to get open....he finds holes in the defense.

Works for me.

Not only that, but this opinion is not only shared by me in regards to how quick and fast Amendola is.

I didnt' look at his 40 time. 40 times don't really tell the story. I said Amendola isn't fast because of what I've seen over the last 3 years from him playing several games. Probably 10-15 games over the last 3 years. He's always the 3rd or 4th best WR on the team.

40 times don't tell you how fast or slow a player is most of the time.

Tech has had a lot of good WRs over the years and most of them better than an Amendola. Welker. Hicks. Glover. Francis. Peters. just to name a few. Most of them haven't make the NFL.

Well I'll let you stick to your opinion. But I must say that it is rather odd that you say you are a B12 fan, but yet probably one of the few who have this opinion of Amendola.

We will just leave it at we can agree to disagree so we can talk more about the UDFA's. :)

Lets see last year he was never the best WR on the team. Crabtree was the best receiver on the team.

The year before he was behind Robert Johnson, Falini, and I think Hicks was getting more coverage when he was healthy and playing than Amendola probably was.

The year before that he was the 4th WR and the 5th Receiving threat.

I take it that you missed the Tech-Oklahoma game last fall. He wasn't the best receiver in that game; it was Crabtree. However, in comparison to the new Commanders receiver, Malcolm Kelly....(OU grad?) Amendola caught 9 for 81 compared to Kelly's 5 for 44.

If Amendaola was the 3rd or 4th best, does that make Kelly the 5th or 6th best receiver on the field?

Sure it will be tough to make the Cowboy team; but if he did, he wouldn't be the first UDFA to do so.

So he's worthless unless he's the best receiver on the team as a freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior?

He's a slot reciever. He's not an outside guy, but yet he put up terrific numbers despite having Crabtree (whom many believe is the top WR in the country) on his team. I'd say your analysis is a little harsh.

Okay, maybe you do not want to agree to disagree. In any case ..

Very few WR's (if any) in the country were better than Crabtree last year. But I guess we should knock others we have drafted unless they match up to potentially the best players in the country at their position.

As a junior and a 4th option, Amendola still caught 43 passes and had 5 TDs. Even among some of the better WR's in the history of that school, he still put up solid numbers.

Football is a game about chances. Once given an opportunity you have to run with it. If we had not given chances to guys like Romo, Ratliff, Colombo, Kosier, etc., who were all unheralded and had received little PT, would we have ever known what they were capable of?

Receiving PT is just a silly basis to try to support your argument. What a guy produces when given the chance should be everything you need to know.

Is it me or is it a bit odd and ironic that Brady Leaf (Ryan's younger brother) signed with the Chargers?
