I'm rooting for Machida simply because Shogun doesn't even deserve this title shot yet.

He got beaten by Griffin. He BARELY snuck out a win over an extremely winded and out of shape Coleman in one of the worst fights I've ever seen in my life.

But, hey, he KO'd Chuck Liddell so lets hand him a title fight for that, right? I mean it's a huge accomplishment to KO Chuck ain't it? It's not like 3 of his last 5 opponents KO'd him or anything.

Oh, wait...

If not Shogun then who?

Evans and Rampage where tied up in TUF and the Irish dude who got KO'd by a jab from a MW and ran from the ring like a little ***** sure as hell hasn't earned another title shot at this point so who fights Machida if not Shogun?

he was originally supposed to fight Rashad and Rashad turned the fight down. Jardine wound up stepping in to take Rashad's place.

and after he beat Jardine the Rampage Evans fight was set up but Rampage had to pull out cause of the Injury and inn stepped Machida. The intent all along was that Rampage would fight the winner but things got in the way yet again.

This fight on Saturday was supposed to be Rampage vs Machida but when he would rather be on TUF and fight Evans Shogun replaced him

It's quite simple, Shogun was the best Light Heavyweight in the world when PRIDE closed, but he had a tough knee surgery done. It takes a long time to fully recover from that. Not to mention, he was sick, so he had no cardio or will to fight that night. He actually should have dropped out of it, stupid not to. He was still out of shape against Coleman and thus struggled accordingly, but he showed some heart and came back and won. Even Coleman proved against Stephan Bonnar that even at his age he's still legit. In his next fight, he showed up against Liddell in the best shape of his life, showing clearly that he's fully recovered from the knee surgery. His stand up looked great. He was also winning that fight up until the knockout. Keep in mind that Rashad Evans was losing by points against Chuck up until he knocked him out. If Rampage was a fighter and he fought Rashad and beat him, I'd say he deserves the title shot. But right now, it's either Shogun or Dan Henderson. And Hendo probably won't sign with the UFC again, at least for a while.

He's just posturing for more coin. Henderson is not going to Strikeforce. He's using the other MMA organizations to open a bidding war. Once he gets a feel of what his max value is, White will slightly pass the offer and keep him in house.

I am drunk and ready for some KOs.

Even though I am usually wrong I will throw out my predictions again.
Machida wins by KO in second
Cain Velasquez wins by KO in first round
Josh Neer wins
Spencer Fisher with the upset
Johnson wins

Link?

I said when i first got into this that Machida was the 2nd most impressive fighter I have seen. I got chastised for it. He was supposedly boring.

I don't think so at all.

Is this the 1st fight? Johnson?

Yes, that was the first fight. That is if you wanna call it a fight, more like a total mismatch.
