UFC 104 Shogun vs Machida

What a joke.

Dana even told him that he won the fight.

Unanimous decision too? Come on....

I bet there is a riot in Vegas tonight.

ya know Dana stepped toward Shogun to put the belt on him right before they said Machida won. he also told Shogun that he won the fight.

Cecil Peoples was one of the judges too. Hmm. One of the worst, if not the worst decision I've ever witnessed. That, combined with Antoni Hardonk losing just puts me in a pissed off mood.

I missed it. What happened?
Shogun Rua basically absorbed every attack Machida threw at him and he kicked the crap out of Machida's legs and ribs. Neither guy got to the ground much. It was a stand up fight all night.

I felt Shogun was the aggressor on 4 of the 5 rounds and landed the more solid shots. Nothing rattled either fighter, but I think Rua was the clear winner. All 3 Judges scored it 3-2 for Machida. I am not sure which rounds they feel like he won, but 3 is pushing it. I think it was 3-2 or even 4-1 the other way. In fact, I would not have been shocked if the scoring had been 5-0 for Rua. I would not have agreed with that scoring just as I don't agree 3-2 for Machida. I have no idea what the Judges saw.

I say that and I was openly pulling for Machida going into the fight. I do not believe he won at all.

Even my friends who don't know all that much about UFC but are real big Machida fans admitted it was a bs decision. It was pretty bad. Two judges gave the first three to Machida, even though I don't see how you could give 1 AND 2 to him and I think the other gave him 2, 3, and 4. Which makes 0 sense, 4 was a clear cut Shogun round. Heck, the only round I could make an argument for Machida would be round 3, pretty even, but I could see him getting the nod. But after the first three rounds, everybody watching with me agreed that Shogun was winning thus far. Then the leg kicks started. That was icing on the cake in my books. I just feel sorry for the guy. Worked his tail off to achieve that, then he actually did it and knew he did it, and he's robbed of it.

Mafia must be involved.

Bruce Buffer just looks like the mob.

I missed the show last night, so I didn't see this fight, but all I've heard is that Rua got robbed. I hate to hear that. Much as I am not a Rua fan, cause of his first few fights in the UFC (And I understand he was sick and injuried and all that so I'm not saying it's totally on him) I don't like to hear that he got totally screwed. That's never a good thing.

This is why I think White should be able to step in on fights where the decision is obviously wrong and over rule the decision. I know he can't because of the issues it could cause later and cause judges to second guess themselves and stuff but come on. When it's pretty dang obvious to everyone thats watching it that the decision is wrong then White should be able to step in and overrule such things in order to get the calls right.

That sucks.

I have a new found respect for Dana White after watching the post fight PC, he basically called shenanigans on the results

Machida MIGHT have won the third round. But that's it. I still can't believe it.

i still haven't seen anyone other then Machida him self say he won that fight. :bang2:

Go on Sherdog. There are plenty of nuthuggers out there. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Machida fan, but he flat out lost. All my friends who were Machida fans agreed. I did go for Shogun and want him to win though.

WAR SHOGUN!!!

Had a feeling they would screw Shogun.

They don't test for steroids in Japan, nothing to be surprised about. If he got signed in the UFC he'd be about half the size he is right now by the time of his octagon debut =D.
