Yea, I love Carano and the Cowboys tie in and all but there is zero reason she should fight in the UFC, much less fight Rousey.
If she wanted to come back and fight a few times in Invicta she could work her way to the UFC.

This is coming from a guy who was fine with CM Punk making his MMA debut in the UFC.

Also, the Silva / Diaz fight was a lot closer than you'd expect if you watch it a second time.

I could see giving Diaz 2 or 3 of the rounds. In terms of amount of strikes, there were rounds were Diaz was quite a bit more active and blocked Silva's combinations to be fair.

Not saying Diaz won, but the fight itself was pretty close from a striking eye.

I saw a completely different match than you. I saw a guy who could pretty much do whatever he wanted at will against an opponent who never tried to push the pace. Silva held back a lot, which is understandable coming off his injury. Diaz should have tried to submit Silva, instead of trying to box with him. Silva has a BJJ blackbelt, but I think Diaz's grappling is on another level. I think Diaz just wanted to cash in on a pay day.

On a lighter note, Diaz should have gone for the flying healhook:

Oh my. Did NOT see that one coming.

Anderson isnt the type to willing take PED's.

Maybe this is somehow related to his recovery for his broken leg perhaps? Steroids are commonly used by medical professionals in injury recovery.

That's what I'm thinking.

The UFC won't tolerate it. They want their fighters clean of everything except, ya know, cocaine.

Bones Nose.

He did receive treatment in Brazil if I am not mistaken. maybe the doc gave him some bad information on his treatment and it's possible effects on the drug testing. Which is a shame.

This puts the UFC in a ridiculous situation, Jones gets fined 5% purse for Cocaine... now Silva either gets the HAMMER dropped on him, making Jones look bad... or Silva somehow gets saved and makes the UFC look bad.

Yikes.

Diaz was above post fight limit for Marijuana. Surprise, surprise lol. Now watch Dana go off on Nick, and give him a year suspension for a drug that isn't the Yay.

This is just great.

I'm sure you're right about why Silva tested positive but the UFC has to act. That's a PED. Whatever the reason, that policy has to be black and white. You either did it or you didn't and it shouldn't matter why you do it, IMO.

Diaz just doesn't give a bleep. Him and his brother. They have both been excellent fighters but I think they're wasting the 2nd half of their careers with this disgruntled act. I don't think they are 100% committed to fighting in the UFC any more.

What a mess for the UFC though. Both fighters off the main event fail drug tests.

2 of the biggest cards of the year so far both failed drug tests. Such a shame. I remember when GSP said that he didn't want to come back and fight for the UFC until they cleaned up their drug policies, and that most fighters were on something extra. He seems to be spot on.

This is interesting because Jones got popped for Cocaine, and also had a very suspect Testosterone/ Estrogen ratio in his blood as well but they never found anything. Potentially he masked it well, as most fighters can do.

Now one of the GOAT's gets popped. Yeah I agree, Diaz could care less. It wouldn't surprise me if he was blazed while taunting Silva either lol.

I am really starting to wonder who will get busted next.

This is why I'm always weary of pro athletes still performing at a high level after 35. At this day and age, I'll just assume you're juicing and too slick to get caught.

I'm looking at you Tom Brady... ;)

I wonder if people will chalk this up as a product of his devastating injury or will they question his entire career now.

I'd lean towards having questions about most of his career. It's really hard to know but it's a legit question, IMO.

They say he wasn't tested for anything prior to both Weidman fights. I'm just guessing, but maybe that was the norm and he figured he could get away with it. I don't know.

Or maybe this is just because of the leg.

Good point. I remember when MTV Cribs had him on and in the background you could see Norditropin NordiFlex or another Nordi (Something close) syringe that is linked to HGH.

Whatever the deal is, it's a bad look for UFC and Anderson.

I don't see why a counter puncher would need steroids though. Chael did because his game was based on strength. Silva was just based on reaction and timing.

I think it is moreso linked to the shady brazilian doctors he had work his leg.

Any aging ealthy athlete with brains has been using HGH.
It is tremendous for recovery and lean muscle.
If I could afford it without blinking I'd take it myself.
It is a fat burner and very beneficial in a number of ways.

There are Steroids that improve cardio and conditioning. That was the case for one of the two Silva was on. Sprinters, cyclists and boxers take steroids... it is not to bulk up.

The biggest area steroids helps with is recovery.
For an older athlete that is key.

You almost immediately feel ten years younger.
It is also an immediate strength and energy boost.

What this basically says tho is that neither Silva nor Diaz ever planned to fight UFC again.
Neither had to get caught. So they just didn't give a crap.

For the record, HGH is not exactly this foolproof fountain of youth that you speak of.
You do realize there are plenty of adverse effects from taking steroids, prohormones, and the like?

The steroids listed are not commonly steroids that are administered for cardio and conditioning.

Drostanolone is essentially an AI that reduces estrogen in a human that is currently cycling a steroid.

When you take a steroid you are flipping a coin whether or not it turns into estrogen or testosterone. They are structurally similiar, almost identical. THIS AI is used as a means to prevent extra estrogen intake to the body, allowing the body to purely focus on it's influx of T.

Which is why it is an anti-cancer agent in breast tissues.

NO NO NO, it is not a chemical that will make you have insane cardio. It WILL however let you remain lean while you are on your current cycle of an additional steroid. Estrogen will make your body accumulate body fat, Drost- will prevent the estrogen, thus giving you a leaner physique.

I would also highly suggest you to not take such substances.

There's rumblings Rousey/Cyborg might finally happen this year. That's definitely the biggest fight they can make.

And essentially an enormous waste of time when Cyborg eventually tests positive, once again, for steroids.

I'm sure it would be a great fight that would then be mired immediately by a failed test.
