I loved after Luke won when his AKA teamates, Cain and Daniel came in the octagon and hugged Luke. Great moment.

McGregor is King. I said when he came to the UFC that as long as he can make that weight cut effectively he is untouchable. I never thought Aldo had a chance.

I'm enjoying the suffering and denial from the MMA purists who just. can't. stand. how good this guy is. Their Brazilian hero got starched by the true GOAT.

I feel like I still didn't see these too fight.

I want a rematch. That was bs and told us nothing.

LOL.

Nothing but Aldo collapses at the feet of McGregor's power.

What it told us is the only reason that steroid fueled Brazilian had the run he had in the WEC and UFC is he never faced McGregor. He's too powerful for any 145er. He's a natural welterweight, there was a breakdown recently showing McGregor with the size and length of the average WW, with the rare unique ability to make that weight cut and fight effectively.

We shall see what he does at 155. That's a whole new ballgame. But McGregor is without a doubt the greatest Featherweight in the history of MMA. He basically just took a giant dump on the 2nd greatest and I loved all 13 seconds of it.

Yup the Brazilians are finally learning what taking years of steroids and then quitting a few weeks before the "random" drug tests get you.

Kind of ironic that Wiedman got cocky like Silva, and tried that spinning kick. The fight was over after that.

Bro, Aldo's camp is now 1-8 outside of Brazil since the new drug testing.

Great fight. I thought Weidman was winning before that kick but it was very close. I had Rockhold in that fight but with no real conviction. They are both monsters in their prime. I think what Luke said was true and probably the difference in this fight. He trains with champions. Weidman is a big fish in a small pond. He doesn't get pushed like Rockhold does on a daily basis sparring with DC and Cain.

What does that make Duffy , who beat Conor rather easily and has a better overall skill set ?

A lot of fighters clearly dosing..

Luke Rockhold for example.

That was 5 years ago in McGregor's 5th pro fight. It was Duffy's 11th pro fight.

And Conor's ground game hasn't improved since. What is your point? Duffy has been fighting and winning since the Conor fight.

Luke benefits from cutting LOTS of weight. It must be nice to abuse the " muscle is 70% water " rule by rehydrating to physically overpower everyone you fight. It is impossible to get out from under Luke because of this reason. It annoys me heavily when I see Luke and Yoel.

Also, that Tecia Torres looked great in the prelims but she is clearly dosing as well.

The testing for ufc must be easy to pass.

I'm guessing they use the EPO's like Lance Armstrong did that are out of your system in 4 hours.

What's scary is that camp could easily have 4 champions right now. Had Cain and Khabib not gotten injured.

Of course DC is only the champ because of Jon Jones' personal issues though but still.

He was a completely different fighter then and he got quickly tapped in his two losses. Nobody has come even close to beating that guy in an actual fist fight. Even in the Duffy loss he was tuning him up on the feet before it went to the ground.

McGregor is in a different league as a striker. But it's always something with these guys. I was told many times it would change when he fought Aldo. Well he did and it didn't. The guy dominated the FW division in the WEC and UFC for 10 years and McGregor dispatched of him like he had no business being in there.

Greatness.

It may be easy.

If it's that easy though then you're saying these guys, like Aldo, who've tested positive are simply stupid people then.

Either way in MMA I give the fighters the benefit of the doubt. That's just a personal deal for me, I realize this, but I will give the fighter credit for being clean until he's caught. Now once they catch you, even if they only catch them once, I will never give that fighter the benefit of the doubt again. That's just how I approach it with those guys.

Now that said...I don't know how anyone whose been paying attention to the lead up of this McGregor vs Aldo fight honestly thought Aldo was going to win. I really don't know how people believed that. If you're an Aldo fan (or even if you're not and you just pay attention to top level MMA at all) you should have realized, a couple of months ago at least, that Aldo was defeated.

It was clear as day.

Aldo is TERRIBLE at the mental aspect of MMA and McGregor completely played the dude right into fighting the kind of fight McGregor wanted. A stand up, try to knock him out fight.

That's a stupid thing for Aldo to try and do. Flat out stupid.

And then Aldo goes in there and does EXACTLY what you don't do. He missed, big time, with a right hand that left his face wide open for McGregor's big left.

Now unless you're an idiot, or you really don't pay attention to MMA at all (Which I assume Aldo isn't an idiot, and he does pay attention to his job), then you know the last thing you're going to do with McGregor is get sloppy and leave yourself open for an uncontested left hand.

Yet there Aldo was doing the one thing that you absolutely don't do with McGregor.

Mentally beaten before he ever even stepped into the cage.

Weidman vs Rockhold....wow. Both guys are monsters. I'd definitely be interested in another fight between those two. Weidman made that mental error with that kick, that I thought he threw very lazy in the first place, and it cost him. I don't know if he was winning the fight till then but it was a close fight until that point.

Both guys are damn good MMA fighters, in the primes, and I'm interested in seeing where they both go from here.

I thought if Aldo fought smart and knew he couldn't trade with McGregor that he would obviously have an advantage on the ground. He'd have a chance. They still start each round standing up though so I still would pick McGregor.

But I knew without any doubt that idiot didn't respect McGregor and actually thought he'd beat him up. Not happening. He could finish you with smacks, he's that much more advanced of a striker. This isn't Faber or Hominick or Lamas or Edgar. This was a whole different beast you've never faced before. The 13 seconds was just circumstance but that exchange would have happened at some point. It was inevitable. McGregor is a master of range and distance, can blast you moving forward or backing up and packs WW power in the FW division. He's got a chin made of granite having just absorbed with ease multiple bombs from the supposed biggest puncher in the division.

I know it stings these purists but Aldo is simply outclassed here. Everything you thought you knew about MMA collapsed before the feet of the new King. Before Bruce Buffer could sit down. I love it.

I am definitely thrilled McGregor won. I like him a lot.

He's got amazing striking ability. It's the power, of course, but to me it's the accuracy and effectiveness of which he throws his punches. They're not wasted. They're not wasted motions or just thrown for the sake of throwing a punch.

He's deadly accurate with his strikes. It's amazing.
