I finally got to watch the GSP vs. Hendricks fight. Until last night I had only got to read about the fight and read how one sided it was.

But after watching I can not imagine how they gave that fight to GSP. I don't see how the judges were that terribly off. I mean it had to be, at best, 4 rounds to 1 in favor of Hendricks. It was one of the most one sided fights I've seen and I don't know how GSP was given that W.

And that's coming from a guy whose a HUGE GSP fan. He's one of my all time favorites but that was just an incredibly terrible job of judging.

Yeah, he was robbed. He got it eventually, though.

Oh yeah I knew he did.

But it was an even worse job of judging than I realized, from all the stuff I'd read about the fight, when I actually got to see it. Those judges should never be allowed to judge another fight in their lives because that wasn't even close enough, in any fashion, to give them the benefit of the doubt.

An off air video of both DC and Jones after the sportscenter one. Jones goes profane.

On a sidenote, yeah hendricks won that fight against GSP and should of gotten the belt at that moment. Fight karma equaled it out, because he didn't deserve the win vs. Lawler. I thought he lost vs Lawler in that fight.

I have not seen that fight so I'll have to defer to your knowledge of it. I just know he destroyed GSP and that's without a doubt the worse job of judging I've ever seen.

If you get the chance id suggest watching it. It is one of the best title fights I have seen. It was pretty close, but Lawler beat Hendricks up on the fight pretty good for most of the fight. Wasn't a complete robbery, but the champ was judged in a different light I would say.

That is a tough one, I won't be surprised either way. I will be surprised if Jones is able to outwrestle Cormier though.

Based off pedigrees, Cormier should be able to get him down and outwrestle him. If he is able to get Jones down and use his wrestling, DC wins.

My worry is that Jones has a huge reach advantage, which will make it hard to get in close.

My heart says Cormier, but my heart always tell me that the Cowboys will make the playoffs each year. Take it for what it's worth, haha.

to be the champ you gotta BEAT the champ.
champs get every advantage.
it is really, really tough to win out pointing a champion.

I think Jones wins.
But this one really could go either way.
Cormier is the strongest, most powerful guy Jones has fought.

But Jones made it through fights versus Machida, Shogun and Rampage without getting hit virtually at all.

Can't wait to see it.

If there is legitimate bad blood between them to me that favors Jones. You want the champ almost bored, not training like a mad man to hurt you.

Cormier has impressed me in every fight I've seen and he is always better than I expect so I will not write him off completely by any means.

Have not followed Cormier's career, but I've watched a lot of Jones' fights and I think he'll take Cormier. He is fired up and will bring his A game. He is something to watch, probably the best I've ever seen.

But Johnny wasn't the champion in that fight was he? I thought that fight was for the vacant title? In that case neither guy should be given any kind of a champions advantage.

That's true but it was fought in Hendricks backyard (Here).
It was treated as if Hendricks was the champ for sure after GSP vacated in what was really a loss.

It's a weird deal because the fight biz has been pretty consistent in this forever.
Agree that if they had treated both guys as just contenders Lawler wins the decision.

This stuff usually equals out as it did for Hendricks.

The thing about the belt in this division is that I honestly don't see a champion holding it for 2 defenses.

Lawler
Hendricks
Lombard
Rory Mac
Matt Brown
Condit
Woodley
Dong

All of those guys could beat each other depending on what matchup is given.

DC would whip Jones. Unfortunately, we will probably never get to see it.

No he wouldnt. I was pissed to see this today though. As If september wasnt far enough away as it was. Oh well. I dont see dc not fighing until january though.

This was the worst case scenario for this division..

Bones, DC and Gus are the top 3 fighters in the division with Rumble Johnson at 4.

UFC can't afford to match up DC/Gus/Rumble because they will lose contenders for Jones in a division where it is so top heavy... can't exactly afford it.

All of these UFC champions keep getting injured for extended periods of time really bothers me. They need to do interim belts more.
