Mansta54;1403823 said:I agree with you. Our QB situation is far from a mess. Romo is set and I believe we'll bring in Harrington since JG is so familiar with him. Harrington is young and played decent ball with JG coaching him. He said JG was the best coach he's ever had.
I never suggested Plummer as a backup for Romo, the title of this thread was changed.philo beddoe;1403798 said:Somehow, I don't think he stays retired. In the meantime we've got a QB mess of our own: Romo's contract & no backup other than Matt Baker. We need to be proactive with the QB situation. We must cover ourselves in the event that Romo was a one year wonder--that means a backup who can actually play for more than a game or three. Also, we need to draft a QB with some major potential, we really blew it last year by not taking Charlie Whitehurst out of Clemson. How do you guys see this mess getting starightened out? Please, don't bring up the name Brad Johnson as part of any solution. Thoughts?
He must have lost his friggin' mind.DallasEast;1403933 said:"Brad Johnson, cut by the Vikes, could end up as the backup in Dallas or Denver." - New York Daily News, http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/502432p-423730c.html
Well, don't blame me. Blame the NY Daily News.
"It appears Brad Johnson has emerged as Denver's top choice as a backup quarterback. Johnson, 38, is set to visit Denver on Saturday, his agent, Phil Williams, said." - DenverPost.com, http://test.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_5343149
Question. If the Denver Post is correct, why would an offensive minded coach such as Mike Shanahan even consider backing up his young talented quarterback, Jay Cutler, with an old, tired, can't-throw-20-yards quarterback like Johnson?
hmm...
Oh, not until next year bro. 2008 will be the year for Ricky Ray.big dog cowboy;1404096 said:Or Ricky Ray.
You're nuts, guy.DallasEast;1404199 said:He avoided violating any rules by inserting the name of a quarterback who can't throw 20 yards into his post. I wish the mods would close that nasty little loophole.
We don't have anyone. That's a problem. Even Romo needs a new contract.big dog cowboy;1404933 said:We cut Bledslow and now we have a mess? I don't think so.

Who are you talking to? I never suggested Plummer. I don't like Plummer.summerisfunner;1405486 said:dude...are you kidding me?!!
even if Plummer retires, he's still a product of the Broncos, we'd owe them a pick
Or, as an NFL head coach, he may know a thing or two more than you and your 'friend', The Prophet.philo beddoe;1405481 said:He must have lost his friggin' mind.
You're in love with a career CFL quarterback and you think that I'M nuts?philo beddoe;1405485 said:You're nuts, guy.
Sure, let's take our sweet time. No worries, Bubby Brister should still be available come July. LOL. Unbelievable.Crown Royal;1405498 said:It's not a problem when the season is 6 months away.

If the mods were responsible for the title change, I have only one thing to say.philo beddoe;1405476 said:I never suggested Plummer as a backup for Romo, the title of this thread was changed.
Yes, it's quite obvious.DallasEast;1405520 said:You're in love with a career CFL quarterback and you think that I'M nuts?
