This is a guy who didn't play hard every snap for the Cardinals' guys. That's been documented. I bleed silver and blue. So do all you: but we're not getting paid MAD cash like he is. I just worry who is going to light a fire under this guy's butt. I don't want a bunch of naysayers telling me he's the second coming either, because he's been pretty average to this point. Just answer my simple question: Who will motivate him? (I'm not trying to start anything, as I desperately want this to work, but I just have a sick feeling that Jerrah got played by Davis' agent and/or the midget in DC) Thoughts?

My biggest question about Davis is, "Would Parcells have brought this guy in?"

Tony Sparano...

also, i'd hope the chance to WIN finally will motivate Davis.

Now is when I wish we had an old time nasty SOB (and I DON'T mean son of bum) of a Line coach.

Winning should motivate any competitor. I don't know much about his college career at Texas. Weren't they decent then, but not great? Maybe getting in a better, winning franchise will light a fire. I sure hope so, because in my mind for this kind of money it's a bigger gamble by JJ than the TO sigining last season.

Who gives a rats behind whether Parcells would have brought him in or not??

He's in......I think our new staff is capable of applying what ever motivation is needed.....if any.

Umm if I had to guess I would say hell no. Guards dont get these deals. good teams draft and develop guards.

Its unfortunate that we had to pay all this money and use cap space to a below average player to replace another expensive average player at right guard.

I would like to have seen a rookie come in and battle it out with proctor.

Motivation in the nfl is having your job taken by a better player. Anyone think proctor has a real shot of competing at that spot now?

oh and Money is the ultimate motivator right? Maybe that is just enron's motto though. worked out good for them. Right?

If money is his motivator we are in a world of trouble with this guy.

any good economic or financial advisor will tell you that money is not and should not be a motivating factor in your career. Not sure if this applies to nfl free agents though.

It's a scary sign of the times when you sign a guy for close to 50 mil (reportedly) and then have to worry how you're going to motivate him.

like with archuleta, carter, el, and bradon? all which were signed in 1 yr. haha

Davis has been the best player on that Cardinals line since he was drafted by them. The Cardinals are obviously disappointed that he wasn't as good as they thought when they used the 2nd pick in the draft on him. It really BS to say anything about a lack of motivation until he shows that in a Cowboys uniform.

Grow up.

I was not making fun of your team, I was making a comment on current society.

absolutely right, especially when the player has a history of being a poor professional.

Ken whisenhut seems like a sharp guy. Maybe he wants his guys or whatever he is doing to build the team his way but, you would think he would like to keep a player like this.

I know if arizona drafts a guy and he plays solid at right guard I will be sick.

am I wrong also, but wasnt whisenhut a line coach in the past?

I've posted it elsewhere but I'll say it again: no WAY do we re-sign Colombo now. I just don't think you give Davis this kind of money to play guard-DESPITE the fact I've read many opinions saying that's his best position! I think we plug him in at right tackle and either Proctor plays guard and/or we draft another young guard: just a hunch. (REALLY hope I'm wrong: I live Colombo, it's just that the Jets or someone will swoop in and throw more money at him than anyone should pay. He's been to banged up to pay big bucks to)

Some are worried while others are not. I'm in with the others.

Winning will a la Corey Dillon, just my opinion.
