Ultimate Leonard Davis Sucks Thread (MERGE)

let's hope that since he was with the cards he just got burned out of their losing ways....I know Simeon Rice did, Kyle Vanden whatever did, Jake Plummer looked the first year when he was out of there, thomas jones and pittman played better when they left...so did many others...maybe Big will too!

Winning organizations ssem to bring the best out of players.
While this is not a given, Davis did say he wanted to be somewhere he could win at.
I believe (hope) he takes the right approach...

I don't see how the new coaching staff at Arizona could know Davis much better than our coaches do. They came in after the season and only had tape to watch, just like we did. I've never heard anything about Davis being Lazy until this offseason once the Cards said they were going to let him test free agency.

Just because they let him go into free agency doesn't mean they didn't want him back. They just weren't going to pay franchise money for the guy.

Heck, that's no different than Cincy did with Steinbach and I never saw anyone questioning Stenbach's work ethic. It's no different that San Diego did with Dielman, and they even resigned Dielman... I never saw anyone questioning Dielman's work ethic.

I suppose since Arizona didn't resign him before FA and since he is so big that people just assumed the guy was lazy and that's why he saw the light of day in free agency.

I think it's a simple case of Davis not being able to play LT very good and them thinking that the really big money should go to LT along the OL. That and a new coaching staff trying to shake things up and bring in a new mentality on the team. Plus, if you look at Pittsburgh and where they learned to run a team... the Steelers never sunk big money into the OL. Heck, they didn't spend big money on much of anything, for that matter. Who knows if Bill Bidwell didn't hire Wisenhunt because he learned to run an organization without having a lot of big ticket players... like Pitt.

Yep... I'd really like to see Columbo inked soon. That way we can move on to other positions and start improving there.

Think Davis is going to be able to get a better push in the running game than Rivera?

My biggest question about Davis is, "Would Parcells have brought this guy in?"

Parcells never won a playoff game here...who cares???

Davis obviously hasn't been worth the second overall pick in the NFL Draft that the Cardinals spent on him. Passing on LaDainian Tomlinson to draft Davis has gotta sting....

Of course people around the Cardinals are going to have sour grapes regarding Davis. Davis isn't the elite left tackle that they thought they were drafting.

It is difficult to evaluate the evaluations of Davis because those evaluations are colored by the exceedingly high initial expectations for Davis.

I tend not to buy into geographical cures, but in this case I gotta believe that life outside of Phoenix is going to be quite a relief to Davis.

It can't be easy working and living in a place where one is seen as a chronic underachiever.

name 1 player on the OL parcells brought in that's made a difference.

kosier? not really.

and it goe downhill from there.

Columbo is better then any RT we have had in a long time. Johnsona and Gurode are better centers then we have had. Kosier is better then LA was his last year.

This is a guy who didn't play hard every snap for the Cardinals' guys. That's been documented. I bleed silver and blue. So do all you: but we're not getting paid MAD cash like he is. I just worry who is going to light a fire under this guy's butt. I don't want a bunch of naysayers telling me he's the second coming either, because he's been pretty average to this point. Just answer my simple question: Who will motivate him? (I'm not trying to start anything, as I desperately want this to work, but I just have a sick feeling that Jerrah got played by Davis' agent and/or the midget in DC) Thoughts?

Don't worry our master motivator Jerry Jones will motivate him.

So what? That just makes him Flozel Adams younger brother...Adams has always had a motivational problem as well and has never reached his true potential, but he's still a good lineman and gets to the probowl as an alternate.

We just upgraded our OL, and people are complaining... not necessarily you.

This clown is going to wind up getting more than Steinbach and Dockery??? Is our front office in the Twilight Zone? 'Market Value' my butt...he is a not-very-good O-lineman. A deal BIGGER than 7 yrs/49 million for a below-average player??? We balk at paying Columbo but we open the vault for Leonard 'Underwhelmer' Davis? Oh, Lord, our team has lost it's mind.

.

oh man...just imagine if it had been Jones that did that

David

Thank god this was started in a new thread! What a ground breaking statement.

like people said before,

people are crying that we dont do anything about our oline and then when we do try to do something about it, they cry some more.

give the guy a chance on a winning team before you throw him under the bridge.

No doubt. Jones still gets some grief for passing on Randy Moss.

But LaDainian Tomlinson?

Geeze. He'd get run out of town!

But seriously, being the guy who the Cardinals picked instead of LT can't be easy either .....

The key is in the contract breakdown vs the other OG's.......Dallas appears to have overpaid, but Davis can play two positions of need...

This is GM Jerry for ya! Alot of folks called for him to take the team back from Bill, be careful what ya'll wish for.
