Shannon usually holds his own, however in this vid he was clearly defeated and had to resort to going at Jerry for some reason:huh:

Give it a shot, it's not that bad! :) Skip is bombastic, but he makes some really nice points.

Or just read our recaps/snippets, we take the best and post em here. :)

The amazing play that makes the highlight reel is Wentz throwing a dumpoff to Sproules and then watching him pick up 60 yards of RAC. Not exactly a Wow play for a QB.

It was very much a wow play, IMO. He stepped up into the pocket when the protection caved, kept his head up and eyes open and delivered an absolutely perfect ball to Sproles (that wasn't a dump off). Not quite the typical 73 yard TD pass, and I'll give you that. But for a rookie QB it was an awesome play.

Skip was born and raised in Cowboys country and eventually lived in Dallas for 17 years, and when they were highly successful.
Of course he's a huge Cowboy's fan.

So what? He also tweeted a couple of years ago that he wasn't a Cowboys fan and that he picked against them all of the time. He also was run out of Dallas for calling Troy Aikman a homosexual. This guy is a clown who uses the disguise of being a Cowboy fan to generate huge ratings from the largest fan base on Earth.

Wentz has uncanny pocket presence, but Garoppolo was looking off safeties and stepping up in the pocket before he got injured, too.

Last night there were several plays where Dak stepped up in the pocket to deliver strikes. If we're comparing pocket presence, there's no way I give the edge to Carson. No way.

Where he (Carson) gets the edge is his touch on the long out route and go routes.

But Dak has shown he has the ability to throw those passes, too. Both command the huddle like seasoned vets, edge to neither, both get A's thus far..

Also if there is even a discussion of which QB is better it means Dallas wins the argument. We got a franchise QB for a comp 4th rounder, the Eagles gave up the farm for Wentz. If Wentz is a franchise QB, he had better be because the Eagles gave up two #1s, a #2, a #3 and a #4 to get him.

Right now we're winning, but people need to remember that it was Wentz's upside that made him worthy of the #2 overall pick. Not where he was likely to be week 4 of his rookie season. He was supposed to need time to develop and adjust. Where he is right now is scary. His upside is still higher than Dak's, IMO. He has more arm talent, hands down. Dak's been plenty accurate enough and if he keeps it up, his accuracy shouldn't keep him from being a pro-bowler. But Wentz has Andrew Luck level arm talent, potentially. He's the bigger, taller, stronger player, with the better arm.

Don't take this the wrong way; I love Dak and could see him being a slightly better (and taller) version of Russell Wilson, if he reaches his potential. But Wentz could be a better, faster, more athletic Big Big if he reaches his. Before I'm accused of hyperbole, know I'm talking about their upside, not what is likely to happen.

That throw to Dez for the TD.. Dez was like the 3rd read on the play...

This is the one aspect of Skip that disgusts me, admittedly (for whatever that's worth to you). I really wish that statement wasn't associated with Skip, dishonoring one of our most beloved players. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

I agree and didn't intend to suggest otherwise. That's where Dak is making his money right now; that's what's special about him at this point in the process.

Wentz has and has shown better arm talent in general, IMO.

Well, no one expected Dak's progress under center or how well he is reading defenses under center. When in college, majority of his plays were in shotgun. As for both players upside, only they know it. In their drive and will to get better each week. Dak has an inner drive and wants to get better. I don't follow Wentz, so I won't comment on him.

I'll never get over it because Troy hasn't gotten over it. Troy said that he was really disappointed when Fox hired that idiot from ESPN. Don't know how any Cowboy fan can respect that guy or his opinions.

I wanted Wentz in the draft and I wish Dallas would have traded up for him. What happened to all the posters that was saying that there was not any decent QBs in the draft?

We all say things we don't mean at times.. I once said Jason Garrett was a good playcaller. I didn't mean it but I said it. It was 2007 and I didn't realize Sparano was doing all the work.

I'd really like to see that tweet.
I'm not defending him, but I live in Dallas and my time with him here overlapped for about a decade. He has always seemed like a big Cowboy fan to me.
If you think he's a pos, that's fine. Just saying, I think he really is a Boys' fan.

Also, the gay Aikman story got additional legs (it was out there already) from Skip claiming that several of the players and also Switzer had alluded to that. Skip was WAY out of line propagating that garbage. But it was not him saying he thought for sure it was fact. In any case, it was irresponsible.
BTW, in Dallas back then, long before Skip said that crap, it was very highly speculated that Troy might be running that way. When I first moved to Dallas and before my married days, I lived in the Turtle Creek area for a few years. Lots of gay neighbors. Those dudes all seemed to think it was true. Certain of it...many claiming junk like they knew someone that that knew someone.....probably their wishful thinking. lol
The point is, Skip didn't start that rumor by any means.
But it was always speculation only. Not at all known fact.

I'll gladly say that I was wrong about Wentz, but I want credit for being right about Goff. ;)

I always loved Wentz's potential. The tools were there and obvious. I just thought the jump in competition would prove to be a much bigger hurdle than it has been to this point.
