Sharpe is such a babbling moron. Does the idiot not realize there’s only a two game scheduling difference based on where you finished the previous year? In addition, the two first place teams you have to play aren’t necessarily going to be the best teams in their division THIS year.

Maybe but besides a two game difference, there could be an advantage in how the schedule lays out.

Look at our competition - the Eagles. Their five hardest OOD games are Falcons (or Vikes), Packers, Bears, Pats, Seahawks. Three of those are at home, only two on the road.

The Cowboys five hardest games are Saints, Packers, Bears, Rams, Patriots. Three of those are on the road, two at home. When you look at arguably the two toughest games on each schedule - Pats and Bears - we play both on the road, they get both at home.

I'm not sure Jerry's saying we should have better regular season record as much as a better playoff record. Other words, we can finish 10-6, win division, get to the NFCCG and I think he'd be happy.

It is going to be the same as every other year under JG. We will be around 8-8 and if the ball bounces our way more than it doesn't we can reach 10-6ish.

I've been saying this since 2002 when the new schedule format came out. The 4th place schedule can turn out to be as hard if not harder with how teams and divisions flip. In 2017 we were other teams 1st place schedule but the 2nd place teams got the eagles which was a tougher game. Even more so in 2015.

Schlerith has always been straight up when covering Dallas, and probably all teams. At least he admits he does not like them, as to being an ex Commanders player.
But he has always given Dallas props and said good things as well as some constructive criticism.

Shannon is just a hater.

Fine, but that has absolutely nothing to do with what he was talking about. His sole argument was about us having a first place schedule. He never mentioned home v. road games, only the fact that we have to play a first place schedule. Two games. That’s the difference. He did talk about having to play in Chicago in December. Who cares? Both teams have to play in the weather, and it could be 50 degrees anyway.

Also, I don’t think either the Pats, Bears, or Rams will be as good this year as they were last year. I might be wrong, but thats what I think as of right now.

I see 11-5. We have added some quality pieces this offseason, with S still being the obvious glaring weakness. They have shown they can win with Dak and a heavy dose of Zeke, and the backup RBs look stronger than we have seen in years past. DL looks to now be a team strength along with the OL. Control the clock, don't turn the ball over, play pressure football on D, and choke teams out in the 2nd half. On paper-- we should be a NFC contender.

Our division rivals got better too-- but the NYG are still rebuilding and their OL and D still look to be mediocre at best. Washington looks solid-- but a rookie QB or Case Keenum does not bode well IMO, and we should be able to beat them with the roster we have put together. Philly will be tough as always-- but Wentz is developing a pretty significant injury history for his young career. Has not been durable-- and Foles is gone now-- so their season may tank if Wentz gets hurt or doesn't come back 100% from the back injury.

Regardless-- we should be competitive for the division title. Home field advantage? Ehhh-- looks to be tough with LA and NO lurking in the weeds.

At this point in time, there’s really too many unknowns to make a solid end-of-December prediction.

Off the top of my head, as of yet:

• Totally inexperienced/untested OC
• No clear #2 WR
• Despite re-signing Witten, TE dependability is still unknown
• Possible health and experienced depth issues on the O-line
• Other than the LBs and D-Law, all kinds of questions on the defense
• (knock on wood) No experienced backups at QB or RB
• Inconsistent kicking game
• Jason Garrett is still the head coach, so mindless game-management moves are still possible

Other than any/all of the above, we should be a lock for the SB.
