If you miss on a quarterback is sets your franchise back years. I know we all want Dak to be that next great quarterback for Dallas Cowboys but we have to realize that he may be that. I'm alright with moving on from Bryant but what about Beasley what about Williams or are they all having a down year or is it the passer? The front office wants to feel comfortable knowing that they have their quarterback of the future going forward so they will at all cost try to prove that he is the one In the meantime we are wasting a great offensive line some young defensive talent if we don't have the right one at quarterback. Dez is an easy target and Dak is more likable than Dez but in my opinion the quarterback position right now is not being played to the level that it needs to be for this team to go farther. That doesn't mean that he won't get there it is means that hes not there yet.

What's interesting is that TO said that when Garrett was coordinator, there were routes that TO wanted to run, in order to take over a game, they wouldn't let him do it. They had him do just a few things, and TO wanted way more routes than was given to him. Garrett HAS TO GO!

Exactly.

Garrett nerfs his talent by making them 1 dimensional due to his ego that his way works and it’s all about execution.

Garrett needed to go in 2013

Dak isn't the issue. Does he need to improve, yes he does but he isn't finished with his second season yet and has plenty of room to grow.

This offense isn't built around Dak. The play calling isn't built around Dak. Sure they run read option at times but receivers are running deep routes like if Romo was still QB. I think Dak would benefit from a different offense, go to a quick passing game with the occasional deep routes. Short to immediate with run heavy
that would put a man closer to the box.Not that I'm in disagreement with you but there's that

I have a question for y'all... What percentage of Dak's picks yesterday were the fault of Dez Bryant?

I'll take 75%.

So if Dez wasn't playing yesterday does Dak have a good game?

The league figured out what he likes to do, throw short to Beasley and Witten then sprinkle in some Dez and Williams later. Well they took those first 2 options away (check Beasley stats difference from last year). Now he has to make big boy reads and throws to the outside receivers and he's not comfortable doing that. Dark can't anticipate a wr being open he has to see the wr being open to throw it and that won't cut it in the NFL.

I dunno why yall are arguing Dez vs Dak back and forth. They both suck right now.

Thing is Dez is on the downside of his career. You can save $12 million next year if you get rid of him. You might be able to draft his replacement in the middle of the first round. Or you might be able to sign a Terrell Pryor to replace him. Plus he has a bad attitude.

I’m not a big Dak believer but he’s incredibly cheap, has only been in the league two years, and you’re not realistically going to be able to afford his replacement while still fielding a competitive team. He’s gonna be your QB next year. Best thing you can do is fire Garrett and Linehan and get a coach who might be able to help him.

You're spewing now.

You asked for thoughts.

I give thoughts and YOU CAN'T HANDLE THOUGHTS THAT DON'T ALIGN WITH YOUR SMALL WORLD THINKING.

"No, no, " you say, "the world must agree with my thoughts! It can be no other way! BWAHAHAHAHA!"

HOW 'BOUT DAT?

Quit freaking out Mr. Communications Guy.
Whether it's for ratings, or not, Shannon had some good points.
Is he doing these things for attention? Of course!

He doesn't have to be completely wrong though...

Word. I'm sad for Dez, tbh. I want him to have a more accurate QB, but the kid's a kid and he isn't there yet.
I also want Dez to have matured, at least as a player, if not as a human and demanding the ball and proceeding to hold the rock like he's DeMarco Murray, on top of all the drops he should have caught...
The getting no separation and still jibbing on routes?

Very disappointing.

Maybe try to make the team less Romo Friendly and make it more Dak Friendly?
That's what a good coach and GM would already be doing.

Dez is gone but some of you are going to look foolish when the same things happen to the replacement WR. Dak is so inaccurate that we are going to have drops because receivers don't know where to position their hands/body.. dak doesn't drop it in the basket.. our receivers have to find it every single time.. it's a miracle any of them catch anything with dak throwing. He is shocking.

Simple answer: Dez is sucking the life out of every one around him.

More detailed answer: Dez no longer commands a double team. Unlike a true #1 WR, he no longer allows the field to open up for lesser guys like TWill and Bease. Not to take anything away from either of them.. But I think we can agree neither is a #1WR.

Last year was an anomaly. But, within that season, we saw a mostly contented Dez because he had been coming off of an injury season and the rest of the offense was clicking. Remove Tyron from the equation this year and you have a vastly different offensive flow/game plan. So it's a number of things but a declining primadonna WR that just keeps throwing tantrums hasn't helped at all...

Everyone is pouring on Dez today. Cowherd even said that Dez is overrated and has been in decline for at least two years. The Cowboys let him talk and now they are stuck with him. Sporting News had a snippet on his decline and the whole Wr corp needs to be rehaul. It is not like they are not saying the obvious.
Last 2 years huh? How long has Dak been at the helm? Coincidence? How can anyone not factor in the guy doing the passing.

I remember last year thinking that Dak was better when Dez was out because once he came back he started locking onto him, forcing it to him, and not spreading it around, which is what made us hard to defend.

No, the Cowboys are not "stuck" with him.

He can be cut and they'll save $8 mil towards the cap.
